Default Catachan semirhetorical questions

Ok, 5 quick late night questions:

-Has anyone used Inquisitorial Allies w/ Codex: Catachans?
-If so what units?
-Would a short story about Catachans accidentally getting sent to an icey death world covered in pine forests be well received?
-Would Carapace armor be fluffy for an HSO for Catachans?
-Would it be more fluffy if you used gorey Tyranid Carapace trophy as the carapace armor?

- Yes (But you need your opponents permission as it is 'deathworld' catachans not imperial catachans.

- =I=Stormtroopers, Grey knight termies (worked well... but i didn't like them that much)

- Depends on how much forest

- Carapace cannot be taken by Catachans full stop (Deathworld) or by imperial if you take jungle fighters. And as for fluff... not really considering they are rugged individuals who wear only a basic flack jacket and fatigues.

- If you were a Catachan force with carapace armour... yea it would be great!

1 - Codex: Catachans is no longer official and, as such, can be used with your opponent's consent only...and then with IA if you choose, I guess, since they are loyal Imperial forces.

2 - I've never done it...

3 - It's been done, in part, wayyyyyyyyyyyyy back in a White Dwarf battle report (the best one ever, to my mind) with the Third War for Armageddon two-parter played across 3 tables. One table had the Catachans defending basilisk emplacements around the polar ice caps. Very funny, but unfortunately doomed (since the Ork units regenerated and mobbed them).

4 - You can do what you wish, but I don't see a stealthy hunter wearing heavy armour in the jungle :P

5 - Uhhhhh...if you're playing them as Tyrannic War veterans of some sort, then yes...I guess so

Ahh... partial credit. The downloadable version is semi-offical and can be used only with opponent consent. However the original is still official to all extents.

Depends on if it's imperial or deathworld.

Imperial could do it... but it would be a lil odd.
Deathworld couldn't and wouldn't full stop.

I was asking about Carapace armor on Officers, namely the HSO

the only sort of heavy armour that would be usefull would be armour that makes you completely impervious to the local floral, and with luck, fauna. this means that anything above thin flak vests and anything below a leman russ aren't worth taking. their heavy weight would slow you down, and almost kill off any oportunity for reflex actions. and trust me, catachan need reflexes.

you could however come up with some story about your HSO being munched up by some tiger/shark/dinosour/flower in catachan and most of his arms chest and upper legs have been replaced with agumentics, which would be represented by carapace and bionics.

So basically he will remake Straken?

In that case... for gaming purposes it's probly good to go with
-Carapace armour (bought from armoury) in the form of augmentations.
-Refractor Feild
-Bionics
-Crimson Medallion.

Would make for a fluffy commander as such.
