Haven?t decided on heavy support choice so could do with some advice on that area.

Tactics are that the ogryn pile in to slow down/ stop the enemy advance, while the troop choice stormtroopers follow up in the chimeras.* The elite stormtroopers will infiltrate ahead take out and destroy any enemy armoured assets. With the surveyors they?ll also ct as anti ?scout units, rooting out and hopefully killing any of the sneaky buggers trying to lay in an ambush [grumblegrumblespacemarinescoutswithsniperriflesgru mblegrumble].

Thoughts? opinions?

sounds good. for heavy support, try a basilisk and some anti-tank platoon(s) . for starters. That way, you'll have some long range support(earthshaker artillery for basilisk. *wink, wink*) and some anti-terminator/anti-impposible to defeat pieces to freak out your opponent. as for the space marine scouts, you're on your own. and yes, i hate them too.

Because Storm Troopers are 'ard as nails and look fantastic.

My big question about this list is why waste points giving Ogryns Krak grenades when they get 2 strength 6 close combat attacks each anyways?

where do orgryns come in?

since demiburg are the "new squats"orgryns seem out of the question. however, i would suggest more mechanised units and /or tanks.

Being a squats army i would say that Ogryns are a bit of an oddity. And also i'm surprised you have no ratlings in there

I don't see how this is a Demiurg army, or how your storm trooper squads are topping 300 points. Also, you must by melta bombs for an entire squad, not just two members, so they are really overpriced.

plus ive only got four units of squats [at the moment] that i can use -so the grenadier choice ment i would have an army that, although not all destroying, can at least hold its own for a few turns, and which wouldnt cost the earth to buy/build.
low paying job + only squat figures = grenadier choice.

because as ia said im using the ogryns as a forward assault unit, plus its only the bone'ead who has access to the imperial armory, and thus the krak grenades.[/quote]
their objective is to slow down/stall the opponents army long enough for me to bring the rest of my army up.
and what better way to slow an army down than with ten very big, very angry looking buggers with guns breathing down your neck

makes sense to me. but at least try to get some normal guardsmen in there, or else it will become an all elite army that is about 4000 pts. for just 45 guys.
