Default Jungle fighters.

Hey, gamers!
I was just taking a survey on how many people have a Catachan Jungle fighter army. Just reply here if you have a Catachan army!

Codex: Catachan guard armies are one of the hardest to build a dcent list with. I watched someone take the challenge of his store's shopkeeper to build a competative Catachan army using that codex. Watching the words and the tone of the article unfold, I saw his frustration, as he was unable to make a decent army and conceded that their codex was quite weak.

That said, they have damn cool fluff.

Gorcyca and JD will have to say something differently to that, Jungle Fighters are their life, and they OWN with their armies, in any given situation. Just like everybody else can, the list is weak, but you still have some rather nice "aces" up your sleeves.

Ohhh ummm... lets see here

My catachan army has only ever lost games over 1000 points.
One where i decked out on traps and the my opponent camped.
The other where where my force got torn to bits by death company.

Gorcyca has similar results i think with his armies.

Even without a shread of vegetation on the baord the Catachans can excel.
The only draw back with them is- that you are unable to take tanks or las cannons.

I agree, they are quite a potent force when used right. But they are so easy to use wrong...

I am actually building a catachan army right now. I figured I'd play them as no-one in our games workshop plays them.

I love these guys. Also a note: If you use allies from the Witch Hunters list, you can utterly wreck your opponent's armor. Nothing like Melta goodness.

As for lascannons... I consider them overrated

cheers

Catachans were the second army I started, (5 years ago) after DE. In the point-levels that I was playing at (500-1k), I had quite a good winning streak. Even in non-jungle tables. I loves my Devils squad ;D . Makes me pine for some gaming...

hmm?? what?? a catachan thread?

i try to build my lists as though they wont see a shread of green. missile launchers auto cannons and such. however, just cause they have a little more range makes them no less potent in the jungle.
