Default naming figures

I'm just wondering, has anyone else tried naming an entire guard army.

It's fun, and helps no end fluffwise.

Side effects: wanting to build a coffin out of balsa wood for everyone who dies and then renaming the model, or maybe cremating the model and buying a new one

Pointless, guardsmen die too quickly, I never get to know their names. I'd rather spend my time creating an extensive background for a smaller number of named characters (officers, sergeants...) than naming each and every guardsman...

Only the commisars and HSO has names in my army.
The feared and renown Commisar Theodore Lemmings (a pun, due to that he is always in a squad of conscripts)
HSO Victor Barrage (also a pun, due to the amount of blast/ordanance markers in my army)
It gives the army a personal feeling.

I name everyone who has leadership capabilites.

If you don't want to give huge details, say the man is a newly promoted recruit.

I already had problems naming my officers, let alone name my entire army :P. Unless a certain guardsman does a act of uncommon valour (killing a greater daemon or something like that :), then my normal guardsmen will never even be named. My officers do get an extensive background though.

Alexander

Only one modal in entire 40k collection has a name.

Its irish for passenger for my shas'el who leads my glorious tau army from usually behind a nice forest or some such.

Fag.

I am not kidding you its irish, though not pronounced the way you are thinking.
