Default Uplifting Primer In Real Army Life

I'm an australian teenager who participates in army cadets, which for those who don't know, is basically learning about the army and army lifestyle firsthand, without actually being in the army. I hold the rank of corporal, and in my unit am a Squad Leader. As a senior (veteran) member of the unit, I am required to teach lessons on how to be a soldier, such as living in the field, camouflage and concealment, and even drill lessons. In several occassions, when I have been without an appropiate lesson to teach, I have consulted the Uplifting Primer published by the Black Library. Although real army life is subtlely different (and if I told you how there's a chance I might get shot), it's about as close as a civilian can get to knowing real army doctrine. Even quotes such as the infamous bayoneting instructions come from army doctrine. I read a training manual published by the Australian army and it had very similar wordings for the basic technique of bayoneting.

That is both funny, and disturbing...

I say drill your squad using the Primer! See what happens! ;D

'If a Guardsman is found to be under the influence of alcohol while on duty, he will be flogged, then shot.'

Go on, I dare you.....

(By the way, I know the quote isn't accurate, I just read it in a friend's Primer a couple days ago)

Well, it's not accurate anymore. It was common to be flogged if you showed up drunk for review or duty a hundred years ago. The 'then shot' is just part of the 40k mentality.....I think.

Drill is a right son of a gun. As a sargent I can sympathise with you on that. As for using the primer, I'll have to get my hands on one.

It's a book..quite expensive, I'm getting a copy soon. Check the Black Library.

YAY for the AAFC!

But anyway... I found some of the laws/principals of war in the RAAF handbook on combat. Some of them we're very similar to those in the uplifting primer and some were funnier then watching a fat a man run!
