What doctrines do you think the Vostroyans Use?

ideas

I do not know their fluff but based on the models and how they look
I thought maybe

Priests
conscript Platoons
Veterans
close order drill
Special Equipment: Carapace armour

What do you people think?

And anybody know their fluff?

As far as I'm concerned, they don't.

Doctrines are overused, and overrated.

Real men fight Pure, as the God-Emperor intended.

Well, what do we really know about the Vostroyans. No rumors this time, but this is based on what GW has released so far.

"Vostroya is sworn to the worshippers of the machine god who rules over Mars."
Techpriests perhaps. Or even Cybernetics (the one with 6+ sv).

"Thanks to the inhospitable climate of Vostroya, the Firstborn are trained in the most adverse conditions. Amidst the jutting skeletal spars of half-collapsed warehouses, the Firstborn learn the skills of close-quarter combat and strict firing drills."

Close-order drill, maybe Die-hards and Sharpshooters? I wouldn't bet on Hardened Fighters though.

Based on the models, I'd also say they have Carapace armour. Perhaps not, but I wouldn't demand any converting for using that doctrine with these models.

Personally, I'd like them to have Iron Discipline since it's the best doctrine I've come across.
Perhaps they'll even get their own cityfight doctrine. Hopefully, it's something you can make use of and not just there to suck up points.

By the way, there's a better picture now on the vostroyan platoon. There's a new guardsman who I haven't seen before.

I think these guys will have 5+ armor save like every other guard regiment. They won't be grenadiers/storm troopers either from what I have seen of the models and fluff.

My opinion they will be standard guard with maybe a few doctrines like iron discipline for the harsh conditions they live and fight in and another minor doctrine if any at all.

I'll have to disagree. On the pictures, they seem to be wearing some kind of platemail. Atleast on the torso. The rules for Carapace says "...or even bulky feral platemail".
It's hard to tell though, and ultimately I don't think they'll get this doctrine. But hey, we'll all find out in WD317 right?

True but a breastplate does not give someone carapace armor. All the models that come with Carapace show the Carapace on more parts then the chest, such as shoulders, thighs, arms, thicker helmet (except smurf scouts) but still there is a distinct modeling of uparmoring done on those models, heck Cadian Flak armor looks like Carapace a bit by the ridges and lines but it is limited to the chest and shoulders therefore only flak armor.

By this it does not mean "a breatplate" or "a shoulder guard". By Bulky feral platemail, it means "30lbs of tempered steel, forming a full-body suit, with chainmail joints and full leather armour suit underneith for padding and additional protection."

In short, you'd have to be using Warhammer Knight models.
