Default Mordian Iron Guard

I love them. Heres why:

1. They have cool models.

2. They are very disciplined.

3. They match my playing style. (i.e: Static and tightly pushed together)

4. They have good doctrines.

5. They blow the c**p out of a undisciplined army.

The only 3 dilemmas I have with them are:

1. How should I place them on the table in order to get the best out of them?

2. Do the models cost too much?

3. What should I get first? (I havn't got the models yet.)

Does anyone have a good starter army list they could show me or give me a link to one? I am thinking 500 or 1000 points.

Thanks for helping guys. This is my first post on this board ever.

Cheers!

Well you have to start with the a Command Squad and either 2 infantry platoons or 1 platoon and 1 armored fist squad or a platoon of conscripts. This will cost you 200-250 pts. Then you can add a leman russ and some more troops or a couple sentinels and then add equipment to your platoons and squads.

The models are all metal so they will cost a lot

As for deployment they use the close order doctrine which means the models must be in base to base to get the benefits of the close order doctrine, hower guard usually like to use cover to make up for their flak armor save so it will be up to you

To try and dodge cost, ask some of your local GW staff (if they're nice) if they ever used to collect a Mordian army, i've got at least 300 of stuff over the apst year all at half/less than half price. alternitivley go to Ebay.

Ebay has extremely cheap mordians from time to time, you just need to be patient. In fact, my Phyllis' Jager battaillon - made up of (converted) mordian figures - cost me less than my Mercian Hive corps, which is of about equal numbers, but uses plastic cadian models.

Mordians look best, IMO, as an infantry heavy army. Buy two platoons, a command squad and some heavy weapons, pimp your units with the Mordian doctrines and you should have your first 500 points!

question 1- tead the tactica on SIGFA and just sit and shoot.

question 2- the models can be very pricy

question 3- as long as you are steadily collecting, you are fine.

mordians are pretty cool fluff wise, and the models look cool. good luck with that.

I can't seem to find the normal trooper models on the GW website, can someone give me the link to a blister or something?

And I don't use Ebay, in my opinion it is like giving your credit card details to someone. Completely and utterly stupid.

Cheers!

I dont' see their bitz on the GW websites and if you aren't going to shop on Ebay then you will probably have to hit the independants and look for old stock.

....why? Buy only from sellers with lots of positive feedback, only buy stuff that has clear pictures and pay in a secure way. Just stick to the rules and it's saver than buying something in a store.
