Prime Exempoator is a Dauntless class Light Cruiser of the Imperial navy. Recent action in the Segmentum Obscurus brought it into the range of a Infidel Class Raider.
The Prime Exempoator started preparing it's Boarding battalions and preparing the guns. The heretics vessel came in very close to the Prime Exempoator and launched Boarding Ships immediately. The Prime Exempoator was taken by total surprise, to the displeasure of it's captain, Varl Hewitt. Gun crews of thePrime Exempoator were very accurate, and destroyed all but one of the boarding parties. As the boarding ship hit, there were not enough members of the ship's company nearby to repell the raiders. The only prepared armed force nearby was the ships 4th Boarding Battalion, nicknamed the "Common Danger". Those men were very fortunate to be able to set on the raiders with speed. If they hadn't, the space would've been open for more boarding parties. Vox-picts show several details of the battle. Traitor guardsmen (burn their souls) stormed the port side of the Prime Exempoator with very little success. At first, the 4th had repelled the traitors away with lasgun and grenade launcher fire, but the traitors were more numerous then expected. The fourth suffered many casualties trying to get into better angles to fire inside the enemy boarding craft. The traitors started advancing toward the main position of a group of armsmen, behind some storage boxes. The Grenade Launchers were the most important, as they held the the traitors off in time for a Heavy Bolter team to set up their weapon. Once the heavy bolter was set up, the tide was turned, and the 4th had enough space and breathing room to pound away at the transport. The traitors were crushed under the force of the emperor, as a autocannon was prepared, and started blasting the inside of the boarding craft. The final enemy was destroyed, and the enemy was repelled. The room and boarding craft were righteously cleansed, and then set afloat into space. May the Emperor take the souls of the deceased, and bathe them in his light. Promotion is suggested to Warrent Officer Derick Harald, and Warrent Officer Robert Cade, who used their grenade launchers with skill, killing several traitors and saving many lives. They're both currently wounded and should recover in four (4) weeks. The 4th Boarding battalion is currently at 57% operational strength, and I suggest you give them at least four (4) months of leave. The Prime Exempoator is currently returning to drydock for repair, and I advise all caution in the look out for traitor forces.

The Infidel seemed strangely powerful for such a small craft... perhaps consider either upping it to a larger vessel (a Murder Class perhaps?), or make it so they were attacked by more than one ship.

The only thing I question is the scale... it seems like there's a really big boarding-ship (like the ones being winched across in Fire-warrior), but that makes no sense given that the Dauntless is under attack form an Infidel; a vessel much smaller than itself.
Perhaps give some more detail as to where the ship was boarded... did they break in through a storage hanger? Maintenance corridors? Access Hatches? Gun-decks?

Yeah, this is the roughest draft in existance?
I still need to add detail yes. For ship sixes though, I don't want it to be too big because then it would just shoot the Dauntless to pieces.

Not necessarily... it depends on how you view space warfare.
If you're still worried, include a reason for the Chaos to board. Perhaps they have someone or something aboard the Chaos wish to capture, or the attacking vessel is Khorne-dedicated (and as such its crew is too deraged to even consider firing!). The only question then is, once the boarding is repelled, how to the Imperials triumph? Perhaps the Dauntless manages to hold out against impossible odds long enough for larger support-ships to come and rescue it?

Ooh! Goody!
Nice piece! I suggest more detail on its officers and commanders, as well as distinguished troopers. Thats always fun. Great job! Stankov PS: I would LOVE to see a list!
