I believe it's one man, but if you use a Predator turret, it looks better, because
1. You can actually fit two people in it
2. The gun appears to be more than just a barrel. Theres actual internal room for it.

Of course, according to GW, I think its 1 man.

The Chimera turret has one crewman in it. The Russ has two (loader and gunner).

I presume one in each takes the task of commander... modern day tanks usaully have gunner, loader, commander, and driver, and otehr secondary weapons.

Commanders are a seperate position.

The Russ, for sample, has a crew of 4-6; Commander, Loader, Gunner, Driver, and two Sponson-Gunners (if the vehicle has sponsons).

The Chimera seems to have a crew of three; Commander, Driver and Gunner. Presumably, hull-mounted guns on both Russ and Chimera are operated by the Commander.

actually i think most tanks ahve shifted to automized loaders reducing the crew to commander gunner and driver.

for the chimera the hull mounted weapon is operated by the gunner, the commander operates the turret weapon. page 126 of imperial armour.

Nope, Guard still use Loaders, although they would not be needed on "support" tanks like the Exterminator, whose main gun is more akin to a Chimera weapon than a main tank cannon.

I don't know about the other tanks... but the M1 Abrams main battle tank still uses a loader, driver, and gunner.

The Chimera uses a set of weapons that do not require a shell to be loaded, so there is no need for a loader in the first place. They simply change out the magazine when needed.
