Default 1k grenadiers

Retooled it, and I can do most of what I want for 1006 points. Will 30 mechanized storm troopers make a dent? I think the upgrade to this (up to 1500) might include more heavy weapons. Would I be effective against tanks with this squad? What about Ork fast attack?

How are you getting missile launchers on chimeras?

You have to take melta bombs for an entire squad, or not at all. You can't buy them individually. They are really overpriced though, so drop them.

You aren't actually using the mechanized doctrine as everything in your army can already take a chimera.

The Macharian Crosses are useless as storm troopers are not considered guard infantry, and can't be moved with one.

Macharian works on storm troopers that are infantry. Ah right, I missed the part about the squad at +4 per model. Pretty expensive.
Right about the missile launchers, really wanted multi-lasers. Do you think flamers are better than multi lasers?

Generally multi-lasers are better than heavy flamers. One chimera with twin heavy flamers is useful though.

I just checked my codex, the storm troopers can be moved, but their chimeras can't. So for your purposes it's still not too useful.

All of your serious firepower outside the Russ is going to have to be close to the enemy to use. After the inititial barrage, the squads are going to be in serious danger of being assaulted, where they will be easy to kill. I'd put plasma guns on the chimera mounted troops, so that they can have good firepower at 24".

id leave the special weapons as they are. since you can shoot from inside the chimera with one of the guys you can sit inside and take potshots at antyhing wanting to assault. the deepstrikes will land and rapid fire plasma into anything that moves. not really my kind of list but i guess it'll work well aslong as the enemy doesnt bring loads of heavy bolters. i would however get rid of the plasma pistols, maybe invest in some hardened veterans.
