Default New Regimental Doctrine

Let me first say I really like the new Doctrines system which permits customised IG armies. However I was looking through the GW website at the various army examples and 2 of them stood out as not being quite right IMHO. Namely the Genestealer Cult Army and the Gue'vesa Tau Auxillary army.

The pics of both these armies features models that just could not be used but were appropriate to the theme of the army ie: Genestealers in a Cult IG army, not according to the rules!

So I propose a new Regimental Doctrine to cover this gap. Please note that this is intended to permit cool flavouring in an amry not to create the beary super force which it could easly be used for...

Xeno-influenced
The soldiers of this army no longer serve the Imperium. They all suffer the 'Traitor' (3+ to be hit by regular loyalist) special rule and must select which race they are now allied with. The exact effects of this doctrine may change based on the allied race and common sense.
1. Access to the armoury of allied race
2. Substitution of Assault Weapons on IG to that of allied race
3. If Heavy Weapons Platoons are used then substitution of Heavy weapons for IG weapon crews.
4. The ability to include a single HQ selection from the allied race
5. The ability to include a single TROOPs slection from the allied race as an ELITES choice

Example 1:

Xeno-influenced: Tau
1. Those who have access to the IG armoury also gain access to the Tau armoury
2. Upto 2 guardsmen in each platoon (include Sormtroopers if permited) may exchage Heavy / Assault Weapons for Tau Weapons (Pulse Carbine or Rife).
3. Tau like to seperate Heavy Weapons from regular soldiers (so recommend use of Heavy Weapons Platoon Doctrine), these may be replaced with Tau Heavy Weapons.
4. May include a Tau advisor as an HQ selection (Etherial would be good for this)
5. Fire Warriors maybe used as an ELITES option.

Really straight forward...

Example 2:

Xeno-influenced: Genestealer Cult
1. Those who have access to the IG armoury get access to some Biomorph enhancements (because they are Hybrids)
2. Doesn't count for regular Cult Members (Infantry), but ELITES selection (like Stormtroopers are Hybrids and can use Biomorph enhancments).
3. Dosen't count...
4. A Brood Lord may be included as an HQ selection (read Partiarch)
5. Genestealer Broods maybe include as an ELITES selection.

Obviously this one is a bit more restrictive Tyrinid weapons not being avalible but this is made up for with the use of Genesteelers as ELITES. Suggest also taking Sanctioned Psykers to represent a Magus.

Example 3: (this is for the sillyness factor)

Xeno-influenced: Ork (Digger Nob army!)
1. access to Ork armoury
2. Infantry with Assault or Heavy weapons can take appropriate Orky weapons
3. as above
4. Doesn't no self respecting Ork will join diggas
5. Diggas may not use IG vehical selections but must use Ork vehicals (buggies and trucks)

Yeah so that last one is just a bit of fun but what do you guys think?

Interesting, and can get lots of cool fluff. I can finally have the Chaos Regiment I have always wanted if only it was accepted. A bit complex though.

Chaos would be easy to do...

You get access to Chaos Armoury...
Assault and Heavy weapons are the same almost...
You can pick a Demon Prince or other champion as an HQ
And you could use Demons (of which ever faction) as ELITES...

Simple, this is really more of a modelling project to get the right look...

Infact, isn't that exactly what is intended to allow you to do?

Indeed it is. Although, that said, I do not feel LaTD represents the Blood Pact fairly. In this case, it would be much better to allow them to use the Guard list, just with no Preachers/Commissars.

And I agree with Wargamer, using Latd for Blood Pact is just a little too 'culty', and since the Pact isn't a cult I think your rules would work great.
