Default Christmas Quandary

I recently recieved a late Christmas present from a friend. It is a metal model I havent seen before. It is a female commissar and i was wondering what edition of 40k it might have come from. The model is armed with a Power Sword and a laspistol.

That's a pretty old-school figure, and worth a bit of cash, as it's mightily collectible. That's quite a friend you've got.

Wow... that is a nice model.

Way I see it:

1. Keep in box forever, then sell after Armageddon for some cash. This really depends on how far you think 40k can grow

2. Paint it nicely and have a unique model

3. Green-stuff giant hooters onto it, then do step 2...

that aint second edition. There were no female commissars in second edition. that fig goes back to like 1986ish "rogue trader" stuff - like when you could find a metal figure of a space marine scout with a shuriken catapult. I have one of those commissar chicks. I never thought it was a big deal, but I guess it is... mine is painted like a kid painted it - but I guess it was... they had one other fig back then that all the 11 yr old boys wanted "Female Trooper 'Bush'" (I guess that was her last name) with the lasgun and the tactically slightly unzipped cleavage armor vest. I would love to find one of those to use in my veterans squad (there's a reason those guys show a Ld8). that commissar fig is a gem though. I suggest you don't stock it in a closet like some still-packed star-wars action figure - it aint worth THAT much except to a couple of really basket case sci fi types.. use it in a game and appreciate your jealous opponents. I think i might try to dig mine out too since you brought this up.
