Default Questiom about Special Equipment.

Here it is:

The entry for Warrior Weapons in the Special Equipment section of the doctrines says that ANY model may replace their weapon for a pistol and CCW. Now when they say ANY model, do they mean, ANY model, or does ANY model mean Units that count as Guard Infantry?

its says any model armed with a lasgun that doesnt have access to the armoury. so, yes any model as it originaly had a lasgun. basicly guard infantry.

any model that is allowed to benefit from doctrines. it's an insane example, but an ogryn wouldn't be allowed to take a laspistol and ccw. But it doesn't specifically state that it's limited to guard infantry, does it? If that's the case, then I guess a model normally armed with a hellgun could take a laspistol and CCW instead...

The real reason you're asking is for the conscripts, right? 50 coscripts with 3 attacks each on the charge. Even if that's legal, it's cheese. Think of something else.

Lol that is major cheese. But it would be a real shocker to a marine player that 50 guys with Ld 10 and 3 attacks on the charge. If you are looking for cheese, do this!

Doctrines:
Hardened Fighters
Close Order Drill
Independent Commissars
Warrior Weapons
Something

Conscripts would have WS 3, 3 attacks on the charge, Ld 10, initiative 4, and be a 50-man unit. Cheese. But really, you shouldn't do this.

it says any model originaly armed with a lasgun exchanges their weapons for a las pistol and CC weapon. lasguns, not hellguns. aslo for hardened fighters it says it can be applied to guard infantry and sentinels. conscripts are not guard infantry, so they would stay WS2. its not particularly cheesy since primitive worlds that employ militias would have massive hordes of axe/sword/spear armed peasants. also black behemoth the last doctrine you are looking for is priests, or maybe orgyns

It might work for Infantry Platoons, except 2 of the squads won't have Ld 10 and you'd need 3 Independent Commissars.

A hord of conscripts with CC weapons and laspistols, the mental pictures alone almsot make me giggle with girlish dilight.

BTW, the rules say "assinged to infintry sqauds, Armored fist squads, or Strorm trooper squads.

So you cant take a commisar or a prist( >) with a conscript platoon.

Remember that Doctrines only apply to "Guard Infantry", except where specifically stated otherwise.

Units that count as Guard Infantry are listed in the Codex.

thats what the independant commissar rule is for. makes commissars independant characters so they can join conscript platoons. the priests are for normal guardsmen.
