Default Heavy Mortar

it says in the rules for the griffon that it is armed with a heavy mortar. where are the rules for this? i checked the IG codex, armoured battalion list and Imperial armour volume one and none of them have stats for a heavy mortar. so what exactly is it? just a mortar but with higher str and better Ap like heavy bolters? also why can't they be used in armour battalions?

GW UK under chapter approved. It's in the list of the AC vehicles.

It's still the same rules as in the 3rd edition codex, right?

Well, if it still follows the rules in the 3rd edition codex I (or someone else) could post them, if we're allowed to do that.
I haven't got any Imperial Armour books or anything though...

Imperial Guard 3rd Edition.

This is the only sure place the rule exists that I know of.

Question answered.

My hobby shop doesn't sell it, so how will I know the rules?

AC Army List actually.

Question answered. Look on the last page. It's a short ranged, inaccurate Submunition for lack of a better description.
