The points cost of the Grey Knights squad is wrong. Also GK's don't have power weapons they have nemisis force weapons.

I wouldn't put heavy weapons in command squads, not enough Guardsmen to shelter the weapon if there's enemy firepower directed at it.

I like to think of this army as Tanith allied with Grey Knights, but I don't really like their doctrines very much. This is Tanith, just with different doctrines.

And about Grey Knights, could I have a little equipment summary? Someone I know plays SMurfs with Grey Knights and says they have Power Weapons and Storm Bolters.

It's just the boards I play on are all open space, a couple of trees, and some cliffs and barely have any cover, making Camoline useless for me.

O ok. Thanks for that. And aren't all Grey Knights 30 points each?

Maybe that's a force that's easy to win with and everything, but it looks quite dull, more competative than it is interesting... Tanith allied with Grey Knights? Tanith who are Drop Troops? with Close Order Drill? Well, it certainly is different....

BB, are we to understand that you don't have a Daemonhunter codex? If you do have one, please read the appropriate sections carefully before fielding units from it. If you don't, you must get one, and then follow the other instruction.

Posession of the proper codex is the absolute basic neccessity for anyone who actually wants to play, rather than argue about which units do what. And it's the cheapest part of the force, to boot.

As to the list itself, it looks reasonable, with a few caveats:

I agree with those who say it doesn't much look like a Tanith army, though a good solid piece of fluff explaining how the doctrines work (i.e. "Rather than an orbital drop, they use chameleoline, but weave it into tarps which they lay over shallow ditches. They spring from the ditches amidst passing opponents, and wreak mighty havoc") could go a long way toward alleviating those concerns. Most anything can be explained (and excused) via good fluff, in my book.

Mechanically, you appear to be falling into the same trap of building a beefy HQ squad which you fully intend to waste in close combat. Clearly, the HSO in your command squad isn't an actual commander, he's just a brawler whose method of leadership simply involves dying first, perhaps as an example to the rest of his men concerning what they have to look forward to. I've never been a supporter of IG HQ close combat tweaking, and remain firm in my opinion that a Power Fist is the single most useless piece of wargear an IG squad can pack along. Along the same lines as Falstead's comment about the Heavy Weapons, the only way to make a Pfist work in a group like the IG is to bury it in a large unit, such that the weilder doesn't get removed as a casualty right off in a manner that makes the point expenditure a waste (because if you're in a close combat, five'll get you twenty that the other guy's going first). HQ squads aren't big enough to accomodate that. Getting them to a point where they're close to able to do that costs way to much. Consider: for the cost of your Psyker, Gaunt, and the CC gear on the HSO, you can slot a third Russ onto this list.
