well i know that i should take more sentinels but, the amount of chimera's/Hellhounds should make them survive longer.

well basically, the Command Platoon, Infantry Platoon and Ratlings stay put, while the mobile elements race up one flank, Hellhounds in front, closly followed by the Ogryns and Sentinels, the Storm Troopers and Armoured Fist Squad will get out of thier Chimeras on objectives and act as a firebase, while thier Chimeras follow the "Armoured Assault" of the Hellhounds, Flamer Chimera, Ogryns, and Sentinels adding to thier firepower.

I love this list! But just a few small tweaks, because you're a little lacking for anti-tank, and for the survival of your chimeras.

First, the enemy is going to be trying to figure out where the Ogryns are, since they're your only assault element, so they want them to get out and walk. Solution? Destroy the chimera. This becomes much harder if they all look alike, so I recommend giving all of the chimeras hull-mounted heavy flamers and turret mounted heavy bolters.

Second, if the infantry platoon is static, give them heavy weapons instead of special weapons. Heavies kill more, and if you're not moving anyway, there's no downside.

Third, swop the rough terrain modification for extra armor on the chimeras. Being stunned slows you down more than difficult terrain (which you should go around anyway).

Fourth, you might consider dropping the ratlings (I know how good they are, I once lost 4 terminators to 6 ratlings in the space of 2 turns, so I'm not hating them here, but I have to pull points from somewhere to address the next problem). Use the points to upgrade the missile launchers to lascannons, pay for the upgrade to heavy weapons in the line platoon (one heavy bolter and one missile launcher, I'd say), and add smoke to the chimeras. If there are points left, you can have grenade launchers and heavy weapons in the static platoon.

As for the 3 sentinels, they're just fine. As you said, with three chimeras and two hellhounds on the board, there are plenty of other targets. Frankly, I'd pray for them to get targeted, because it's the hellhounds and ogryns that are going to do the dirty work!

TA-DA!!! that better for you March? i like this list alot, as it pumps out more shots per turn, and my Ratlings are replaced with the Anti-tank squad... i think it'll work pretty well...

I think I've seen this list before, and it had a lot of Valkyries. What happened? Becuase that was an amazingly cool list. But I like this one too, especially the O.G.R.Y.N's. Are you using the ones that showed up on the conversion thread?

Why flamers for the command squads? If they stay put in the back will they use them? Why not a heavy weapon then or plasma guns?

the Valkyries are all painted, i got bored so i am going to paint up some more Chimera's.

well it is much better to assault than to be assaulted, and my command squads will be holding the lines then rushing in, the Command squad with the SO assaults first after both squads have shot thier guns/flamers, then the JO's squad charges after rapid firing... it works very well against small assaulty units...

Tefnik, I'm speechless...the first list was good...this one is fantastic!...if you change the major's stormbolter to a boltpistol, you get under 1500 points (going a point or three over is a huge pet peeve of mine...so ignore me, your opponents prolly won't begrudge you 3 points)

This is the best balanced non-ordnance IG list I've seen (DT isn't balanced).

I'd suggest dropping one sentinel and putting the points into some heavy stubbers for the chimeras. I've found them to be infinatly useful in my mechanized stormtrooper list. Otherwise it's a really solid list.

i do that, you end up pumping out more shots than a baneblade, its amazing.
