Default the chain-shoe

this is actually not an origional thought (few of them are) i just saw a thread about a 'chain rod' or something and it got me thinking.... I play strictly codex style with no weapon unmodelled and no armor unmodelled and so on... but this new 4th ed. CCW. thing makes me think a bit. a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away a Chainsword was actually a weapon that gave its wielder a S4, -1 armor save attack, plus a parry (that probably means nothing to a lot of the youngins but anyways...), and cost points... now.... can i just glue on a 1" screw or a flashlight bulb or paint his boots silver ("dude! he's got metal boots!") so he kicks hard or even paint his teeth mettalic like jaws in James Bond movies... how much do you guys assume for close combat weapons when you model your figures? do they need a converted chainsword from an other fig or do you make wierd stuff up (i like the idea of a chain-head but havent figured out how to model it)... what do you convert for melee weapons when you run out of chainswd sarge arms from the plastic sets?

I like to add axes and such, as it is still a forceable weapon because swinging 3 pounds of sharp steel can cause some damage!

Other than that, Catachan knives [The huge one that is really a sword, but to them its a knife] really look great on hardened Veterans.

All my swords are power swords [because how much damage can you do against a space marine, really!] so I don't use them for CCW anymore.

like whats his name from final fantasy 7, blonde guy. i did one like that by taking the bayonet of the rifle and attaching it to a laspsitol. if you read the rules for creed it says he has two hellpistols which count as an extra closecombat weapon, so i gave some of the guys two pistols.

If I remember correctly, a chain-head used to be an option in Titan Legions for Warlords.

I go for variety. knives from older space marine sprues, a variety of swords, clubs are easy to model, and of course there's the metal cadian (I have about 140 metal cadians) with the bayonett (surprisingly, he's my rarest one, only have 6-7 of them).
Due to an error in translation, the isolated colony of T'ves'kal'dai mistakenly worshiped the greater goose for seven generations. Reeducation efforts continue.
