1/ Infantry Squads must be comprised of 1 Command Squad led by a Junior Officer and between 2 and 5 Infantry Squads. Armoured Fist Squads and Concript Platoons are seperate unit choices.

2/ Roll once for the whole game for each Psyker.

note that armored fist squads dont need a command squad.

also, do most fluffy imperial guard armies have basilisk?

space marines- 500pts.
tyranids- 200pts. (battle for mccrage )
Lost and the damned- 300pts. (just started)

no. griffins are just as fluffy, but better than the bassie. you could do one of many different kinds of guard army. see the tactica imperium stickied at the top of the page.

where can I find the rules for the griffin tank, and does GW sell them in their store or do they have to be ordered online?

you can find the rules here. You will probably have to order it online, but there are those few hobby shops that might still have one sitting around collecting dust.

But seriously, a Guardsman, I'm willing to bet, could a) outshoot me, b) give me the beating of my life, and c) shove more squad-based tactics down my throat than I'd ever care to digest. Guard are hard, hard men. Whether or not GW's inconsistent, Marine-worshipping fluff keeps with that, mkay?

cadian battleforce is a good buy. 1 tank, 3 tripods, 20 soldiers, some irrelevant plastic walls...saves money tho, and ALL the pieces are staple guard units. but still not quite playable. as was posted earlier you'll need a chimera to make an armoured fist and fulfill your 2nd troop requirement. and AF is NOT the same as a infantry squad with a chimera attached... it has to do with the force list... a whole platoon of guys takes 1 block of troops requirement - 2 x 10 man squads (min), 1 x 5man command squad - an armored fist takes up a troops block also, but needs 10 dudes and a tank for models. neat thing about guard is the amount of plastic available you can grab an extra box of generic guardsmen and chop and glue them into a command squad, a special weapons squad, whatever else you need to make your army legally playable.
