Default So close, so close i can feel the resin

Well ive been saving up to buy myself and destroyer tank hunter(the rules for it are horrible but i like the model) so yesterday i was at a nice even 30 only three more and im there. Then my mom comes in with a wad of cash and im like "wow whats this?" she explains its 15 pounds as a late birthday gift from my grandma, 10 from my cousins and another 10 for my allowance(get it first of the month). Then later that day at school a friend of mine finally pays me the money he owed me(sold him a landraider i got off ebay) so thats another 15 pounds into the pot. So now im standing here with a nice pile of cash, 80 pounds. This of course changes my plans, and with all these almost-Christmas-need-more-people jobs floating around i decided to keep the money get a part time job and quit after my first paycheck. And with the money im going to buy a Lucius pattern baneblade. The first imperial guard model i bought was a steel legion lieutenant(the one without the bolt pistol) i thought he was the coolest model with the exception on the baneblade, which i couldn't afford so i got him instead. Ive never actually used him in a battle, i said he look so cool he deserves a special occasion, and i think my baneblade would be good. So im going to convert him into my baneblade commander(ill post pictures and rub it into your faces)

Destroyers with lousy rules... what bloody version are you using!? They are the single greatest tank-killer short of a super-heavy! Even the brick-launcher cannot compete!

ive got the imperial armour rules where it has the str 9 ap 2 profile, its just a lascannon that rolls on the ordanance penetration table. its got a blast radious, what the heck do you need that for if your killing tanks? its pathetic, its supposed to be the best tankhunter short of abbadons planet killer, and its not even ap1!!!!!!!!!

I think they ammended that in Imperial Armour Update, making it AP1 (since the 4th edition rules actually account something to it rather then being exactly the same as AP2).

Personally I'd still rather have a Vanquisher.

nope, all it says in the update is that you roll on the ordnance penetrating instead of normal penetrating. so basicly its a lascannon. It still has the same chance of killing as a lascannon, and yet i can get a leman russ with lascannon AND battle cannon cheaper.

I had to intervene but with blast weapons on vechiles you roll 2d6 and pick the highest. 4th edition amendment. so its slightly better than a lascannon. plus handy as anti-infanty if your enemy is packed

bah...it has nothing on a venerable mortis lascannon dread with tank hunter;D

two twinlinked lascannon shots with +1 penetration rolls...

its got better armour, can move more has a blast radious and is cheaper. not as good in close combat and doesn't hit as often but still a match for dreadies.

Buy IAvol1. The Destroyer is the single greatest Tank-killer in 40K, bar the super-heavies.
