Default Ancient Sentinels

I have three Praetorian Guard sentinels with assault cannons. Can I use these without permission? VDR prices assault cannons and autocannons the same, so kind of okay. I bought them off eBay for use in LatD but then noticed that the weapon on them was not on the list of options. The models are well done and I would hate to have to convert them, are they display only now? On a side note, is there any accurate info on the Praetorians floating around the web? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is a short bit on the praetorians there, I did not know wikipedia had info on such things as warhammer... hmm.

VDR set that price before ass cannons were VASTLY improved by 4th edition (they'd probably cost 10-15 points more now!), so nice try, better luck next year, hell no, IG can't play with assault cannons, they might hurt themselves! (my first and favorite army is metal cadians, so don't bother going off about me being as space marine fanboy)

Seriously, try "counts as a multilaser". That's a lot more realistic. Hideous model, I had one for a while.

Unless you have the exact rules for your sentinels then i think you will have to ask as it will count as VDR. Not too sure though.

But i love those models... then again i love all sentinels

I have three of those eggs aswell. But I did convert mine. Actually those models where made before the multilaser was "invented". GW then moved towards each army having there own weapons and inveted the multilaser as they had those models already. So.. use them as multilasers.

I've done exactly as you suggest; pay for an Autocannon, but give them an Assault Cannon. It isn't imbalanced; the Assault Cannon is much better up close, but the Autocannon has the range and strength, which can really make itself felt.

It's pretty fair. After all, the cost didn't change in the Marine Codex, so why would it change for anyone else?

This is the only pic of them I have. I've since touched them up but kept the general colour sceme. They are actually rather square and blocky not so much an egg. The forces of chaos are happy with their find.
