Default Regarding hellhounds

Just got my forgeworld online update featuring the new hellhound varients they will be releasing soon. Question is... (I'm finally starting to paint all the Guard I own) are hellhounds effective in the game, and how much? Sort of effective , very effective, too fragile? whats the scoop?

The new FW Hellhound model is amazing.

They perform really well against Tau, as Pulse Rifles can't hurt your front armour and Fire Warriors don't get a save against any of its weapons.

Definatley worth its points, even when playing Marines.

Sorry, quick question about the hellhound, can you play any part of the template over the 24" range?

Definitely a good choice. *I don't have any myself, but I will be getting the new one (artemia patten-oh, and did you see the new daemon? *WOW!!! *New terrain's nice, too, but way too expensive!). *As long as you have at least two AV14 units to attract all of the antitank fire, your AV12 units will live to a ripe old age. *Only thing they need to fear is S7 weapons, strong enough to kill AV12, but will never get shot at a proper tank. *So, autocannons, missile pods, and the like, beware of these. *Any other weapon is going to suck against your front armor or be shot at the leman russ instead. *

With the Hellhound the maximum range is 24", so the end of the template much be within 24" - you don't get 24" + the template!

There isn't one - it's just use of common sense. The range given is 24", so it's not going to be more then that.

Also I can't see how a flamethrower could have a longer range then a rifle.
