Is there any stuff on the uniforms of the Navy......I want to do a unit that has been deployed on land for my army.

Thanks

Dress unifrom is reminiscent of the Mordian outfit. Unfrotunately, I can't find the WD with the official Navy uniform colours/markings in them, but I will continue to search.

Ship's Company are tricky. They wear full body suits with a large, distinctive flat-front face and body protector. However, Stormtroopers would be a good choice.

DO NOT USE CADIANS, they are NOTHING like Navy troops. Nor are Kasrkin. Stormtroopers are closest due to the "vac-suit" look. However, if you can find a picture to work off, and are good at converting, you can make some proper Ship Company.

I'd definitely use mordians as naval officers, especially any models not carrying weapons, or a pistol and sword maybe. For the crew, I'd look at a different range of miniatures. I don't think GW makes anything that would look right. You want an appropriately scaled human in a jumpsuit, and no headgear, if possible, definitely not a helmet.

I could be wrong but for the colours I think they vary from segmentum to segmentum.

Try going for an "emerald green" uniform? I'm sure I've read that somewhere, Gaunts Ghosts I think.

Would they still use the shotun type weapons they use or would a Navy force on the ground use standard IG equipment?

Do you plan to use Vultures and Drop Troops?

As for Models I have no idea what you could use, perhaps Old Cadians with some converting? Although in an IG army, especially when that might be Drop Troops, converting each model would be a task in itself.

Getting models that you feel would be suitable may be difficult, so choose one of the Segmentums and make up your own somehow..

The Segmentums are Solar, Obscurus, Pacificus, Tempestus and Ultima.

Hope that helps.

Good Luck

u could try using the old adeptus arbites minis. they wear full body armour with a faceless helmet and the standard trooper carries a shotgun just like the navy armsmen from the various 40k novels.

I found this on the web...

And if you wish to take your inspiration from the Eisenhorn trilogy, the uniform presented in there for a Naval disciplinary detachment was:

Starched white, high collared jacket.
Red gloves.
Pressed black jodhpurs.
High patent leather boots.
Gold braided white crown cap.

Although I suspect many different sectors will have different coulour schemes. I was saving that one for a Bosun conversion I have in my notebook.

There are two things wrong with the old cadians. First, the shoulder pads would have to be removed (blech, that's too much work!), then their flak armor is way too bulky to be a believable work uniform for ship's crew. the arbites would make excellent armsmen, but again, not regular crew members.

Elysians are an obvious idea... not sure why I didn't think of it before.

there was a diorama i saw in a golden daemon booklet i saw, it used the new Cadian captain, but filed down a hell of a lot, i suggest looking at some necromunda miniatures, can't remember which ones though.
