Default 1500 Guard

So I'm going to leave Tau for a bit and see what their new Dex brings and do Guard in the mean time. I've been looking about and I like the look of Mechanized Guard with Grenadiers, it's something different from Marines. Or am I? I don't know what I'm doing..

Chimera = Multi Laser, Heavy Bolter, Pintle Stubber
Hellhound = Extra Armour, Pintle Stubber

So here it is:

Doctrines:
Grenadiers
Chem-Inhalers
COD
Carapace

HQ
Junior Officer - Chemical Inhalers, 4 Guardsmen, Carapace = 70

Troops
Grenadier 1 - 6 Grenadiers, Chemical Inhalers, 2 Melta, Chimera = 187
Grenadier 2 - 10 Grenadiers, Chemical Inhalers, 2 Melta, Chimera = 227
Grenadier 3 - 10 Grenadiers, Chemical Inhalers, 2 Plasma, Chimera = 227

Elites
10 Veterans, 3 Plasma, Carapace, Chemical Inhalers, Chimera = 237

Fast Attack
2 Hellhounds = 264

Heavy Support
2 Leman Russ MBT's - Heavy Bolter - 290

REVISED LIST

Not looking to collect this just yet, just posting a few lists about.* Obviously I'm in need of Troops. I really want to field an army with all Kasrkin models though, that way I can have Chemical Inhalers and the only way I can think of this is by having all models with Crapace armour, so that I can get them to look like Kasrkins.

Can anyone help me out as I want to how to collect an army like this, but a bit better with some help. I'm not even sure if this is a good idea, just a spur of the moment thing lol.

seems a good list to me, i dont think chem inhalers are worth thier points to be honest but if you like it go for it...
how bigger boards are you playing on, cus if its anything less that 6" by 4" then the bassies wont be doing much after two turns... unless you take them off of indirect fire and keep them hull-down... (i have used this tactic once, it does work rather well...)

No idea, just a list but I'd keep each Basilisk in the 2 corners of my deployment i guess.

looks nice, but the chem inhalers are not really necessary.also, if you are going to use grenadiers, then why have the vets? it doesnt fit. lastly, i dont like the bassies (or many other tanks) dur to their price coupled with their lack of a 36' range.

Must you take basilisks? and two of them at that? I'd rather use the points freed up to get a russ and moe troops. Oh and if you must absolutely use bassies, then at least don't take inderect fire. The chances of guessing correctly at a range like that are... let's just say low. But other than that, nice list.

With this amount of Chimeras and Hellhounds I'm worried that by taking points in 2 Tanks (Which will cost me more than 2 Bassies, and I don't have enough Troops as it is) or even 1, it won't have line of fire to what I want when I want due to the wrecks of the other medium vehicles I have.

It'd be a bit of a gamble, at least with 2 IF bassies in separate corners I can pretty much Cover what I want.

Deadnights List has alot more Troops in, anyone figure out what i could do tog et meore Troops? They are what I need to win by capturing etc.

Made some changed. More men, slightly more anti tank.

Tanks instead of Bassies.

So what do you think?


Cheap HQ (that doctrines will allow me) only because I have to.
The first small squad I'm not sure about. I might change them to DS'ing Storm Troops as that mightmake a more 'reliable' way of destroying tanks.
2 Large Squads to try to take and hold Objectives, move about and Plasma stuff etc etc.
Veterans to take care of AP2 units.
2 Hellhounds and 4 Chimeras to help with Anti Infantry, same as the Tanks.

Hmmm...
