Right! Time for my DKoK list. It's 30pts over and is lacking anti-tank, but I'd rather not have heavy weapons teams because they don't fit with my idea for the army. Perhaps giving the Grenadiers melta bombs and meltaguns would work better?

I'll accept any advice but as it's themed advice that involves having heavy weapons teams will probably not be followed. I'd rather have my anti-tank either in terms of special weapons (meltaguns and bombs) or tanks. Bear in mind that DKoK can only take two Leman pattern tanks (and a Demolisher, should you wish. That might be useful).

Ssoooo... I need to lose 30 points and tone up the list somewhat. Not sure how to go about this, as you guys know I'm not so much of a veteran when it comes to Guard =P I just hope that the list I've produced is legal, you have the weirdest troops selection thingy ever...

Cut down the grenadier unit a bit and give them meltas. You've already got PLENTY of flamers. I'd drop the MC on the power sword if it'll make the difference on something. Drop the 3rd platoon, shuffle the 2 infantry squads from it to the other 2 platoons and use the points from the JO elseware.

While you can save 5 points by giving a JO the HI, I find it operates much better when I give it to my Kasrkin Veteran Sergeant and have him infiltrate. That unit is the bane of my Tau friend's existance. Everytime it comes on board it gives him a hard time.

I would definitely use your grenadiers as your AT squad. Give them meltaguns or plasmaguns/meltabombs for some AT and ranged TEQ. Ordnance is also quite usefull for tanks with the extra dice you get.

Also your points seem to be off. Do DKoK cost more than normal guardsmen? Your guardsmen squads should be 66 points each not 86.

To be honest, I think that the list is decently strong, but I suggest splitting your 3rd platoon, and placing your two 10 man squads into the other two platoons. With the points that you save, you can drop the flamers in your 2 platoon HQs, and get a pair of auto cannons.

Maybe switch your Executioner for a Leman Russ.
Also, the vanquisher owns vehicles, so you may not need to worry.

Uhuh, 10 DKoK Guardsmen is 80 points.

Sound advice though guys, I'll rejig the Grenadiers and shuffle the platoons around a bit =)

one last thing I hadn't noted on my first read: drop those torches from the exterminator. Kit it with 3xheavy bolters and let it tear up any infantry silly enough to waltz into its field of fire. Add a heavy stubber for extra laughs. 14 shots per turn is nothin to laugh at, even at BS3.

Right, done some rejigging. Platoon 3 has been split into Platoons 1 and 2 and the Heroic Officer has been demoted and had all his equipment taken from him, the Grenadiers have been given two meltaguns and meltabombs instead of their original equipment. The Executioner now has three Heavy Bolters.

Honorifica Imperialis. A lot of people drop it on their HQ for the 5 point save, but it's much more effective to put it on another average model to give him the HSO profile.
