Alright, I've been using this list for awhile. It's good but I need more practice. Anyway, this Nuke 'Em Tournament is just like a normal tournament but everyone has a Nuclear Bomb which represented by a Dinner Plate Template (5" in diameter or 2.5" in radius) which kills everything under it. So, what you guys think of this list and Nuclear Bomb? :P
Doctrines - Veterans - Special Weapon Support Squad - Drop Troops HQ Command Platoon Command Squad (90 points) Junior Officer with Plasma Pistol 4 Guardsmen with Plasma guns Anti-Tank Support Squad (95 points) 3 Guardsmen with Missile Launchers 3 Guardsmen with Lasguns Special Weapons Support Squad (80 points) 3 Guardsmen with Meltaguns 3 Guardsmen with Lasguns Special Weapons Support Squad (80 points) 3 Guardsmen with Meltaguns 3 Guardsmen with Lasguns Sentinel Support Squadron (120 points) 2 Catachan-Pattern Sentinels with Improved Comms Elites Hardened Veterans (88 points) Veteran Sergeant with Melta Bombs 2 Veterans with Lasguns 3 Veterans with Meltaguns Hardened Veterans (88 points) Veteran Sergeant with Lasgun 4 Veterans with Lasguns 3 Veterans with Meltaguns Hardened Veterans (88 points) Veteran Sergeant with Melta Bombs 2 Veterans with Lasguns 3 Veterans with Meltaguns Troops Infantry Platoon Command Squad (90 points) Junior Officer with Plasma Pistol 4 Guardsmen with Plasma guns Infantry Squad (72 points) 1 Veteran Sergeant with CCW and Laspistol 8 Guardsmen with Lasguns 1 Guardsman with Flamer Infantry Squad (72 points) 1 Veteran Sergeant with CCW and Laspistol 8 Guardsmen with Lasguns 1 Guardsman with Flamer Infantry Squad (48 points) 1 Veteran Sergeant with CCW and Laspistol 4 Guardsmen with Lasguns 1 Guardsman with Flamer Infantry Squad (48 points) 1 Veteran Sergeant with CCW and Laspistol 4 Guardsmen with Lasguns 1 Guardsman with Flamer Infantry Squad (48 points) 1 Veteran Sergeant with CCW and Laspistol 4 Guardsmen with Lasguns 1 Guardsman with Flamer Infantry Platoon Command Squad (90 points) Junior Officer with Plasma Pistol 4 Guardsmen with Plasma guns Infantry Squad (72 points) 1 Veteran Sergeant with CCW and Laspistol 8 Guardsmen with Lasguns 1 Guardsman with Flamer Infantry Squad (72 points) 1 Veteran Sergeant with CCW and Laspistol 8 Guardsmen with Lasguns 1 Guardsman with Flamer Infantry Squad (48 points) 1 Veteran Sergeant with CCW and Laspistol 4 Guardsmen with Lasguns 1 Guardsman with Flamer Infantry Squad (48 points) 1 Veteran Sergeant with CCW and Laspistol 4 Guardsmen with Lasguns 1 Guardsman with Flamer Infantry Squad (48 points) 1 Veteran Sergeant with CCW and Laspistol 4 Guardsmen with Lasguns 1 Guardsman with Flamer Fast Attack Sentinel Squadron (130 points) 2 Mars-Pattern Sentinels with Improved Comms Sentinel Squadron (130 points) 2 Mars-Pattern Sentinels with Improved Comms Total Points: 1745 points |

My only complaint is that the Nuclear Bomb is a bit unrealistic. The large template is nowhere near big enough to represent a proper nuke, but I guess it can't be too powerful for balance.

Nice list. I like the idea, but I think it's also illegal.
In your each of your infantry platoons, you have what looks like two 10-man squads and three 6-man squads. I assume those 6-man squads are meant to be remnants squads, but you can only have one per platoon. Aside from that, I think the list will work well, I would just combine those remnants squads into full strength squads to make it legal. TB ++EDIT++ The Nuke 'Em Tournament sounds like a neat idea. Good luck.

The list looks like it's fine if you consolidate the remnant squads.
The Nuke idea is simply moronic though. If you want to stop cheese than straight up say certain builds can't be brought to the tournament. Some armies are going to suffer greatly, while yours barely cares. Any army that needs to hide a character to be really effective (like an ork Big Mek with a force field) is going to have that unit sniped. Any army that takes a very small very elite unit is going to screwed as well, especially if that unit has a transport. My brother likes to take a Wolf Guard Battle leader with a large retinue of power weapon wielding Wolf Guard mounted in a Crusader. The unit combined comes out to almost 600 points. In a normal game he's managed to skillfully use it to far greater effect than I would have predicted (my first thought was that it's a massive point sink). On the charge it annihilates virtually everything it touches, but he's paying through the nose for it, and it's hardly cheesy. With these rules you could wipe out a third of his army on the first turn.

Anyway, though the tournament is called "Death Note", there's nothing out of ordinary about this tournament. The Head Organizer just wants to mess with us when we signed up :P Anyway, I've decided to go with an experimental "easy-to-use" list. Doctrines: - Drop Troops - Close Order Drill HQ Command Platoon Command Squad (128 points) Junior Officer with Honorifica Imperialis and armed with Bolt Pistol and Power Weapon 1 Guardsman armed with Plasma gun 1 Guardsman with Vox-Master and armed with Laspistol and CCW 1 Veteran Guardsman as Standard Bearer and armed with Laspistol and CCW 1 Veteran Guardsman as Medic and armed with Laspistol and CCW Elites Hardened Veterans (84 points) Veteran Sergeant armed with Bolt Pistol and CCW 2 Veterans armed with Shotguns 3 Veterans armed with Meltaguns - Doctrine: Drop Troops Troops Infantry Platoon Command Squad (78 points) Junior Officer armed with Bolt Pistol and CCW 1 Guardsman armed with Plasma gun 1 Guardsman with Vox-Caster and armed with Laspistol and CCW 1 Veteran Guardsman as Standard Bearer and armed with Laspistol and CCW 1 Veteran Guardsman as Medic and armed with Laspistol and CCW - Doctrine: Close Order Drill Infantry Squad (75 points) Sergeant armed with Laspistol and CCW 7 Guardsmen armed with Lasgun 1 Guardsman armed with Plasma gun 1 Guardsman with Vox-Caster and armed with Lasgun - Doctrine: Close Order Drill Infantry Squad (75 points) Sergeant armed with Laspistol and CCW 7 Guardsmen armed with Lasgun 1 Guardsman armed with Plasma gun 1 Guardsman with Vox-Caster and armed with Lasgun - Doctrine: Close Order Drill Infantry Squad (75 points) Sergeant armed with Laspistol and CCW 7 Guardsmen armed with Lasgun 1 Guardsman armed with Meltagun 1 Guardsman with Vox-Caster and armed with Lasgun - Doctrine: Close Order Drill Infantry Squad (75 points) Sergeant armed with Laspistol and CCW 7 Guardsmen armed with Lasgun 1 Guardsman armed with Meltagun 1 Guardsman with Vox-Caster and armed with Lasgun - Doctrine: Close Order Drill Infantry Squad (71 points) Sergeant armed with Laspistol and CCW 7 Guardsmen armed with Lasgun 1 Guardsman armed with Flamer 1 Guardsman with Vox-Caster and armed with Lasgun - Doctrine: Close Order Drill Infantry Platoon Command Squad (78 points) Junior Officer armed with Bolt Pistol and CCW 1 Guardsman armed with Plasma gun 1 Guardsman with Vox-Caster and armed with Laspistol and CCW 1 Veteran Guardsman as Standard Bearer and armed with Laspistol and CCW 1 Veteran Guardsman as Medic and armed with Laspistol and CCW - Doctrine: Close Order Drill Infantry Squad (75 points) Sergeant armed with Laspistol and CCW 7 Guardsmen armed with Lasgun 1 Guardsman armed with Plasma gun 1 Guardsman with Vox-Caster and armed with Lasgun - Doctrine: Close Order Drill Infantry Squad (75 points) Sergeant armed with Laspistol and CCW 7 Guardsmen armed with Lasgun 1 Guardsman armed with Plasma gun 1 Guardsman with Vox-Caster and armed with Lasgun - Doctrine: Close Order Drill Infantry Squad (75 points) Sergeant armed with Laspistol and CCW 7 Guardsmen armed with Lasgun 1 Guardsman armed with Meltagun 1 Guardsman with Vox-Caster and armed with Lasgun - Doctrine: Close Order Drill Infantry Squad (75 points) Sergeant armed with Laspistol and CCW 7 Guardsmen armed with Lasgun 1 Guardsman armed with Meltagun 1 Guardsman with Vox-Caster and armed with Lasgun - Doctrine: Close Order Drill Infantry Squad (71 points) Sergeant armed with Laspistol and CCW 7 Guardsmen armed with Lasgun 1 Guardsman armed with Flamer 1 Guardsman with Vox-Caster and armed with Lasgun - Doctrine: Close Order Drill Fast Attack Hellhound (135 points) - Extra Armor - Pintle Heavy Stubber - Smoke Launchers Heavy Support Leman Russ Battle Tank (175 points) - Hull-Mounted Heavy Bolter - Side Sponsons Heavy Bolter - Extra Armor - Pintle Heavy Stubber - Smoke Launchers Leman Russ Demolisher (205 points) - Hull-Mounted Lascannon - Side Sponsons Plasma Cannons - Extra Armor - Pintle Heavy Stubber - Smoke Launchers Basilisk (125 points) - Indirect Fire Total: 1750 points Basic Strategy; Spearhead the advance with Armor followed by Infantry while Basilisk clears out hidden units like Crisis Suits and Guardian Jetbikes. Looking very solid, you've got one problem though, and that's the platoon commands cannot take banners, frees you up some points though.
