Default capture the flag?

if there was a CTF (capture the flag) game in 40k what would it need? i came up with no vehicles picking up flags, this is to keep ppl from getting a monolith or lamen russ with a flag...

also you would need to get the flag back to your table edge, or maby a base/marker in ur deployment zone to win.

not shure about limiting deep strike, and infiltrate...

also if anyone can test these rules it would help... i cant play to much

Or Dark Eldar. It would be hard to do because of jumping squads and such. Everyone has them, so whoever gets first turn get the flag and jumps back home. It could work though...

Play it on a standard board (6'x4&#39 but lengthways, so you have 36" to the flag from the board edge. That'll make it a bit fairer. To be better you'd want it to be 8'x4' really.

No swooping hawks!
turn 2:deep strike on the flag
turn 3:jump off board
turn 4:deep strike back on board at flag drop point

Maybe no warp spiders.
Move as jump infantry possible 24 inches in one turn.

what about bikes and boosting? Regular bikes might not be that bad but what about jet bikes?

what about transports? A devilfish or rhino might be OK but what about fast vehicles?

That's it! NO ELDAR AT ALL!!! :P

I like Jackoby's idea, maybe have a really long but thin board. You could have it a 4'X12' and play apocalypse on it. It could last all of 20 turns. lol

It has to be a long thin board. To get round the swooping hawks thing you could say that if a unit deep strikes or skyleaps or similar abilities they drop the flag. You could also apply that to turbo boosting bikes. So... if any unit tries to move further than 12" for whatever reason during their turn (or two turns, in the case of skyleap deep strike) then they drop the flag. That works too. And it'd still work better on a long board.

Id make it Only Troops and HQs
and once you pick up the flag with a unit that unit cant move till next turn so the enemy has a round of shooting at the unit

I think it would also have to be similar to FPS capture the flag games in that you have to be in possession of your own flag before you can return an enemy flag to base for a point...

or is that already a given?

Single flag or multi-flag?

If single flag, then simple, put it in the middle and the unit must stay on the board to capture it, however if the unit tart to flee then it will drop the flag. Get it off your table edge and you win!

Multi-Flag I think would be a Meat-Grinder scenario and just whomever manages to get the flag and get it off of their table edge wins.

And you'd have to stress "stays on board" and "not fleeing", otherwise I don't think much has to be said. You could also call the flag a Power Fist that strike at normal initiative if you wanted to :P

Would all units get the rule "endless swarm" or something?
If not, it'd just turn into a deathmatch with a bonus.
