Default Stingray Interceptor

The Stingray is a lightweight, but heavily armed fighter, capable of engaging and destroying targets many times its own size. Its quickness and maneuverability have earned it many followers amongst the Air Caste, particularly those engaged against Imperial forces, whose agile Lightnings can often prove dangerous to the larger and less flexible Barracuda.
However, the Stingray has its share of enemies. Many believe it to be too fragile, and lacking in many valuable features. Early testing showed that they were prone to Ejector Pod Failiure, and so the entire Mk III range was removed from service. Despite this, there are still some who respect and admire the Stingray, and several Rogue Traders have put in impressive bids to purchase some of these for their own usage...

Cost Front Side Rear Bs
Stingray 160 10 10 10 3(4)
Type: Flyer (Heavy Support).
Crew: Tau Air Caste.
Weapons: Twin-linked Ion Cannons with Drone Assisted Targetting (Bs 4), x2 Rockets, x2 Bombs.
Options: Any Stingray may be upgraded to a Mk VIII Stingray at no additional cost. These models are built for space combat, and so carry a larger anti-flyer payload. The Mk VIII replaces its Bombs for Rockets.

The problem here is Tau vehicles r gettin too repetitive. Plus so many people r coming up with them it is takin away the idea of tau.

Their main strength is supposed to be battlesuits not vehicles so personally i dislike most of these made up vehicles, but the idea is reasonable

I just think this should be done for battlesuits instead...

Yeah, and how is a battlesuit supposed to take on a Flyer?

Interceptors are tactically vital. Ask any modern military strategist, and they will tell you that air superiority is the dominating factor in winning a battle, not the strength of the ground force.

Wow, for a sec there i thought that was an actual quote from a forgeworld book or something, very nice. Dont know if the costs justifies it though, seems kinda cheep, dont you think.

Nice. Failry lightly armed and armoured, like any decent Fighter should be in 40k.

It occurs to me that if the Tau need a proper flyer at all however, it shoudl be a CAS aircraft like an A-10 Warthog, or an IL-2 Shturmovik (basically a russian flying tank according to Tom Clancy's non-fiction book 'Airborne'

But I also feel a few more battlesuit variants may be nice. Like ones with SAM's...

hmm... XV88 - that would be battlesuit
Hellfire- defenitely not a Tau name

I dont think Tau need any more vehicles i reckon people should think about battlesuits as they have so much scope.
