Recently we have been seeing the BS 4 firewarrior debate over forums. Whilst it would be good to have them at BS 4 alot of people agree that only the most veteran of warriors would have such skil (ie a Space Marine). Well I was thinking instead of making the Firewarriors BS 4 give them the Sharp Shooter skill from the Imperial Guard dex (call is something more Tau'ish of course). So pretty much they have the ability to re-roll some misses. What do you think?

I hear this one all the time as well. BS4 Tau would cause problem, as their firepower would increase a little too much (hitting on 3's and wounding on 2's and 3's? Most armies only have special weapons and squads that do this!). Suits would definately become more menacing (and I love suits...). I think it makes sense that the Tau vehicles can have the BS4, as they can be augmented, but looking at the commanders, only the really vet warriors have that good BS (Shas'El, and 'O).
I actually had a friend who always wanted to give sharp shooters to Tau firewarriors (not suits). It of course would be a nice thing for all of us, but maybe not the enemies. I figure Tau are perfect as they are because they're not having problems as an army in the 40k universe. So why alter them up? Now I do wonder why Crisis suits and Stealths are stuck at BS3. I would imagine with their sensors and augmented vision that they could really see some things on the field and have some nice advanced targeting and all. But in the end, they're just as average as a Firewarrior without a battle suit.

No, they are not an average FW with an suit. They have at least 4 years of battle experience behind them. And as Ive said before all, and I mean all troopers get better at firing with the years! But this wouldnt work in 40k as this would mean that a 400 years marine would have BS 25 and thus hit automatic!
