Default A whole new way to use grenades!

I have developed a whole new way of using grenades! It is still being tested...but it looks promising!

Instead of using it for CC...I thought...Why not make it so that grenades can be used for ranged firefights? Or just before you assault...you might want the enemies to duck!

The Rules are:
-2 Grenades per man MAX!
-all must use grenades if one member is using grenades.
-Roll 2D6
-Roll to Scatter and thats where it hits
-incase of a double 1, count as a dud/malfunctioning grenade
-Strength 3 AP 5 (better not make it TOO strong...)
-units may use grenades on same turn as firing or just before assaulting
-squads in CC cannot use grenades

Well...thats about it...any comments please dont hesitate to write! Any suggestions are greatly welcomed. Last of all...you are free to use this Grenades rule and change it to your likeing! Just remember to get your opponents approval to prevent arguements!!

South Pole you mean surely? I was under the impression that the North Pole is an uninhabited mass of ice...

anyway, they got their because all continents were once linked. When the continents split, the Penguins were stuck. As the climate became colder, they evolved to handle the cold.

My mate threw a tantrumat me cause I killed his Chaplain with the new Grenades rule :P But he's a sore loser...If I blow up his predator D on turn 1, he'll sike out...

I don't think these rules will work easily. The current "grenade" rules are too different from the early ones.

Perhaps you can make "throwing grenades" a weapon by using a short-ranged Grenade Launcher (of course, not everyone could have these...).

Huh? thats really quite weak, I would think.

Maybe I don't quite get the idea.

They already do this, they are used while charging into cover to take away the defenders striking first in cover (In effect, putting ,both units at initiative 10)

Eldar use grenades that make you use initiative as normal.

Note, I'm no to sure about this, but thats the wway I've heard it.

it's not brilliant idea...but I watched a few war movies...I realised that they actually utilise their grenades more than they do in 40K...20 millenia has past...their weapons only get better...why not make the grenades more useful? actually see the grenades as a weapon not a tool...

well...thats just me

The problem is you are comparing fluff to rules, and that doesn't always work. If it did, Marines would have the following profile:

grenades should just b used instad of shooting say 12'' with str 3 ap 5 blast or
str 3 ap 4 for eldar since they use plasma grenages we've all played halo yes eldar have those grenades.

And lets increse the pts cost of grenades say 5 or10 pts? For unlimited grenades that may only b used b4 u are assaulted or assaulting but u may not shoot in the previos shooting phase.

IE: if u are assaulted in the enemy assault phase and you fired any weapon in your last shooting phase grenades may not b used.

This sounds right.

hmm...maybe...but I was kinda going for the exact thing wargamer said was bad...mixing rules with fluff ;D
think...grenades are very unpredictable...you could throw one and you might have the strongest arm in gridion, but your power armor might frag out on you or you could just throw it wrong...thats why I added the "throw 2D6 rule"...so it reinforces the unpredictability of a man throwing a grenade...and also, the snake eyes roll gives it more "unpredictability". Since not all weaponary are made perfect...

Damn! I've just done what wargamer suggested that I shouldnt do!...mix fluff with rules...
