Default REM on XV8

No, REM does not stand for Rapid Eye Movement in this case, but Rare Earth Magnets. I have yet to work with them, but am looking to put them on my Crisis Battle Suits, especially the Forge World ones so I'm not committed to just one weapon with those "special" arms they have. I'm particularly looking to find out...
1) Where is the best place to buy them is? Online would probably be best.
2) What the best sizes I should get? I already have the measurements of the slots on the arms, but this tends to vary with what I want to know next...
3) Which is the best way to secure them to the model? I'm not too sure how strong they are and if their strenght would be a problem with pulling them apart once on the model.

Rare earth magnets are the strongest form of magnets (not including electro magnets they don't count) but pften they are hard to find in small sizez for crisis suits. The most common magnet i have heard people using is 1/8th of an inch but i am still not sure on the size.

In his defense, the tutorial you listed doesn't reference rare earth magnets, it uses cheap rubberized magnetic strips which don't look or hold well at all.

A google search will give you several sites. I got mine from amazingmagnets.com, I think. They come in all kinds of sizes from industrial bricks that can crush fingers all the way down to 1/16 inch or so disks. For attaching them to the models, your best option (really your only one) is super glue. I've never tried it on resin, but on plastic you can drill holes (very carefully) into the plastic so the magnets are flush with the surface. I have successfully magnetized both crisis suit hardpoint locations, devifish burst cannons, seeker missiles (both skyray tail and front-mounted), fire warrior shoulders, fire warrior shields, and broadside arms. Good stuff, the rare earth magnets!

I'm awfully sorry, I though normal magnets were pretty much the same size and shape as rare earth magnets.

I use 1/16 x 1/32, 1/16 x 1/16, and 1/16x 1/8. The 1/16x 1/32 are excellent for doors on the DF/HH/Skyray chassis and other small areas and thin surfaces. And I use the others for crisis suit weapons and support systems. I use super (CA) glue and green stuff to hold them in place.
