Default Comissions etc.

(Sup' Cadaver!?, if this is in the wrong section then smite me for beign a tard XD).

Well, where shall I start?

Basically, I've been wandering arround the net for a while, with an idea in the head, a friend of mine gifted me a character design from 40k, she got it pretty kickass, so now I'm interested in someone for sculpting it.

My unanswered question tough, is how much should I expect for someone to charge me for a 28mm sculpt?

Have you guys got any experience comissioning this kind of stuff? I've heard a bit about female cadians and cadian chocobos, I think those where set-up by Dr. Thunder... how expensive where the original sculpts?

That's about it, show off your comissioned minis if you like, but please tell me the details of the comission.

However, If you wanna recomend someone do not post his name or website in this thread, as it would be free publicity :P, PM me instead but do show his job so that we can have a reference of the things that can be done for what price.

Thanks for your reading, and I'll apreciate any feedback.

It all depends on the sculptor really. Some will charge insane prices for very little effort or imagination(theres a guy who charges $250 australian for SM quadbikes - WTF?), then theres people who will do it for cheap and produce nice results, some will even do it for free to build up their folio.

Im doing a 7 inch tall greater daemon for $140 australian for Cadaver, which seems pretty decent to me, but I tend to take on commissions only if I think itd be a fun idea(ie. fun enough for me to want to do it for myself). So yeah, I think it really depends on the individual sculptor. Theres practically 'studios' like Scibor that will produce great results, but at high costs, (and lot of it will be recycled casts).

So its up to you to search around the myriad of wargaming forums to find someone your happy with. Just pm members on forums/ebay and they should be happy to give you a quote.

Well, thank you for the general advice.

I dunno... Maybe I just worded up my first post oddly, or was it unpolite?, anyway, I was expecting a bit more of response...

Thanks Waargh, I looked after your previous projects and I really liked' em and Cadaver tells me you are a nice guy to work with, hopefully you'll like the artwork if I end up asking you for this comission, for the time beign I think you are the surest bet arround (and then, you still have to finish Cadaver's Daemon).

See ya later guys, will go oil riggin n' drilling.
