Default Games Workshop's Army builder

I was thinking of buying the Army builder from Games Workshop and I wanted to know if anyone had tried it and know if it was any good.

I have tried Army Builder 2.0 from Lone Wolf but I'm not sure about buying stuff online so...

Any opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Army Builder 2 is very good and plenty of online support.... don't know about 3... the GW one is ok and prints nice looking lists

My main issue with the Lone Wolf one is that some of the rules specific to certain units are not outline. Not that they are necessarie for building a list but I was wondering if the one from Games Workshop had that.

I seriously (like, lots) prefer the GW interface and output.

I think armybuilder is a better for making lists though. The GW one does not support Chapter Approved items, and is updated maybe once a year, meaning that it takes a long time for them to fix bugs and mistakes. Armybuilder is fan operated, so all the units are available, and kept reasonably current.

Actually they update about as soon as a new codex comes out. It is a bit delayed though and usually comes out two-three months after the codex does but apparnetly they only have one guy working on all of it. Still, i find it tends to be alot less buggy than most player made ones. The only real reason I would get Lone Wolf's over the GW one is if you play other games than 40k.

Well I do have to say that I'm pleased with my purchase of the Enemies of the emperium. I is complete and easy to use, there is a few minor gripes here and there but nothing major that I encountered in the software.

My only concern is that we are now October 25th and there is still no patch for the new NID codex that came out this summer. No worries for me since all Tau details are included but my friend was at my place and hoped to create a quick army with it only to realise that the patch was not available .

Other then that if you only play Wh40K and play a few races ( I have Orks, Eldar and Tau) it is worth it. I would even recommend it if you only had one army. I can setup a 1500 points army in less then 5 minutes and have it print in depth details about all rules and descriptions of all units.
