Default Assault # explanation please

I got DoW on the pc a while back and have recently been playing DoW 2. I enjoy The eldar so i got the eldar battleforce box from GW, I have not yet assembled them as i'm going to paint them first. However my question is that while looking through the codex I came upon something i didn't understand and couldn't find help with in the rulebook or codex.
If I give my dire avenger exarch two shuriken catapults I get a single assault 4 avenger shuriken catapult, does that assault 4 mean that it can attack 4 times during the shooting phase?

Essentially, yes.

You get 4 shots with that weapon.

lol, i love how that works out . Essentially u get 4 shots (No.4) which you can shoot even if you moved in the movement phase, and you also have the option of assaulting after shooting (assault). Worth noting also that generally you can only shoot a single unit, e,g; all the shots will be directed at a single enemy model or squad.
