Default gaming superstitions

At my local club we have a general (proven!) belief that black dice work better - especially for ork, chaos and dark eldar. Does anyone else have any superstitions/customs related to the game?

Painted models do better than unpainted ones. Whenever I watch a game where one army is mostly unpainted it ends up losing. It could be argued that people who haven't painted their army may be newer to the game, and people with painted armies have probably played longer and have some more experience (this is probably the case most of the time) . I like to imagine that that little fraction of an inch that paint adds increases the amount of armour on the models ever so slightly

my friends and i trade dice to ensure prosperity to all involved. Also the d6 that rolled the wound must roll the save or you fail no matter what

'people with unpainted models tend to be newer to the game' far from it. I still haven't finished painting my first army, which is 8 years old! but that could be due to my sheer amount of other models

we had a guy come into the shop to play and in his case were some old space orks like back when they were more squarish. we thought he bought them online in the discontinued section but they were relics from when he started playing that he hadnt gotten around to painting yet. so he decided to make the fact that they were unpainted his good luck charm and carried them to every game.
