Default Any reason to take a ridiculous amount of Anti-TEQs?

Since the close-extinction of the MCs with 2+ Armor Save and Toughness as high as 7, is there any other reason to take a clown's amount of Plasma Weapons etc to be used against TEQs? Other than an idiot taking a Death Star unit of Fleeting Terminators with Storm Shields.

Yes if said plasma guns also double up as effective anti-MeQ. (See Imperial Guard Command Squad in Chimera)

Another would be the rise of MC's. (see new Nid Codex)

But Isn't it funny to think that guard might be able to copy eldar tactics slightly?
You mean "Perform Eldar tactics better than Eldar", right? :P
Not unless the Eldar have an obscure Warrior Aspect that revolves around the complete mastery of the common light bulb.

I could take a cheap Missile Launcher for that (Nid MCs don't have the luxury of T7 or 2+ Armor Saves anymore) and it can double up as an Anti-GEQ weapon.

Realistically, no. With the new nid codex the 2+ is saved for GW's baby, the space marines. Deathwing is rare enough that you don't really need to worry about it that much.

I've actually never been a fan of plasma and it never finds its way into my lists. I use AC's and LC's for my heavy weapons and meltas and GL for my infantry weapons.

I agree that really missile launchers are one of the best as they can deal with MC's now they have a 3+ and also are a high enough strength to wound the majority of them on a 3+.

oh and fixed

Since you refer to someone taking a death star Terminator force with storm shields and fleet as an idiot, can you please tell me how you beat him with a Tau army?

Give me a plasma cannon over any other weapon. That is all.

Crikey! This crazy clown causes commotion like the coming of Christ. Contained in a circle corrupted by crackheads and carnal cravings, he creates no concession to callous cheaters concentrating on nought but cock. Certainly, still a curious and cordial cavalier in the countenance of crazed cads, curs and creeps who condemn courtesy as something corny. No cloud could collapse his crushing crescendo of comical crowing and crimson coiffure. This conjecture on culture comes circumlocutive, consequently...

You may call me Circus.

Plague marines, but krak missiles work on them to.
But that won't stop me from throwing down plasma cannons on vehicles.

A krak missile will ignore a PM's armour and FNP.

For Tau, TH/SS termies are annoying, but not much more. Staying mobile, meching up, or wrapping kroot bubbles around your troops will delay TH/SS termies more than long enough to mulch through them.

Also, you're taking plasma and missile pods, aren't you? Wounding on 2's is always a good thing.
