Default Mission objectives help

For the Events of the North American TO meetup, we want to try to have all the games (more or less loosely) set up together to lead to a big megabash. We are considering having objectives based on the faction and table which could lead to small bonus in the final game.

So I'm putting this up here to have a little brainstorming session to help cook up some ideas for those objectives, because it's a lot easier to think of various idea whwen you are several as oppose to 1 or 2. So Go ahead say whatever you think might be good, be as creative as you want and no judgement. Once we got enough I'll go through them and use/adapt them for our need.

For the various Imperial armies you could use the Teleporter Homer from the Terminator Box as some sort of communication module.

I think he means objectives in the sense of the missions rules itself, rather than physical objective markers.

True, but physical objectives could still be an idea. So let us not count them out.

Actually, one of the tables we'd likely be able to use features a great big com tower, so something involving a communication device as an objective could work exceptionally well.

Can we give ideas even if we are not going to the meet up?

Anyway carrying on regardless the orks will definatly have to be in a war for resources and weapons, maybe working their way up towards a big city/munitions factory.

Eldar could be fighting over some sort of lost technology buried underneath a city, only they know of its where abouts however the IG have accidentally stumbled across where it is hidden and have begun excavating and the Eldar do not want it falling into human hands. Once again working towards a city for the last big mash up.

Any type of chaos is trying to prove to their gods their worthfulness and a main commander can have been promised demonhood if he succeeds in wiping the planet clean of humans. What they don't realise is that their god is using them to find the buried eldar tech to use as a weapon, however there could be in the last scenario a specific thing the commander has to do and then his God can turn him into a demon prince.

The Space marines can have been brought in to help defend the world from the orks and help the IG find the buried stuff. They are trying to prevent the ork waagh! reaching breaking point as they know that this planet will become a vital supply for their Waagh!.

Will try and think up some more, thats all for now.

Indeed. The idea will be used during the meet-up, but everyone is welcome to contribute with ideas for objectives.

Here are a bunch of ideas I am not sure all of these may be used.

Armies

Chaos Marines

Deamon weapon be it a giant sword or other artifact that will make the lord be more powerful.

If the chaos player is bringing a sorcerer or tzeentch Hq than a secret book of chaos could work well.

An unholy shrine would also work for things like word bearers and can contain the artifacts

Imperial

An ammo dump full of artillery shells would be really useful for gaurd.

For ordo xenos there could be a stockpile of specail ammunition types that would be very important in defeating the tyranids.

Another thing for the ordo xenos could be a rare tyranid corpse to be broght back and examined by the magos biologos.

Space marine could have geneseed be an objective

Ordo Hereticus could have a holy shrine to the emporor they need to protect

orks

Mek workshop with all of his favorite tools

A gaint pile of dakka could help the meks

A vehicle in the process of being looted would make another good objective.

If someone has a bad moons army then a teef vault could work otherwise ammo vault.

A gold mine would work for orks as well.

Speed freaks could use a giant vat of red paint or blue for deathskulls.

Tau
A protype of like a crop harvestor or some type of drone being rushed into feild testing could make a good one to try to get a technological advantage.

Tyranids

I have a good one for tyranid maybe a terrain piece seeded with hormagaunt eggs due to the new fluff would make a good objective that would prevent another wave.

A digestion pool could also work.

Tables

City

A generator building could also be used to stop factories. Could be built in any which way.

goveners palace or similar building if the city is built right. For the leader. And protecting it could be planetary govener to tau etheral to ork warlord throne...

Grass table

A grain silo storing food could be an objective that would work.

Other ideas would be something to transport/ harvest crops.

edit a water tank for the crops.
Icy Table

A landing pad if it is in remote areas for a supply line could also work for the pdf base.

pdf base

A refeulling tank would work nice here as well as other thing similar.

Landing pad would work if it was like to get supplys.
icy terrain

A food wearhouse could be good here.

An oil promethium well could work really in cold and would give an awesome feeling.

Well this went on longer than I expected but is really a lot of ideas.

You could try a special objective system where different groups have a goal to accomplish beyond winning like:
Tank hunter- destroy all enemy tanks
Head hunt- assassinate the enemy commander

I'm sure you could think of more but that's two. i also think that would be better if they varied by the army your fighting, instead of the army you use.

Also, keep in mind that an objective that your army is risking massive casualties to acquire isn't necessarily any good to you at all! Anyone who fears or fights the Forces of Chaos would be interested in grabbing that Daemon Weapon just to keep the Daemon Prince from getting it and chopping through his entire army. The same logic could be used for Tau going after a cache of Eldar Spirit Stones, Any non-Imperium force going after some gene-seed, or some Imperial Guard trying to recover and hide the Inscrutable Power Source and Extraneous Dust Collector from a fallen Ork Stompa. Admittedly, it's harder to come up with things that the Tyranids or Necrons would be after, but they could just be playing the "catch and hide" rather than the "grab and use" role.

Now, who knows without Googling for it where Inscrutable Power Source and Extraneous Dust Collector come from???
