Default Multi-Melta

do i get a +d6 against regular troops when with in 6 inches of it. For example do I get to roll an extra d6 when attacking a hive tyrant with my obliterator that deepstriked.

No, the extra D6 is only for vehicle armor penetration, it has no effect against infantry.

Sorry no.

The +D6 is only for armor penetration rolls vs. vehicles.

Do you roll "to penetrate vehicles" to hurt a hive tyrant? (pg. 30)

That should answer your question.

Read the rulebook before you answer questions that are answered clearly there, if it weren't so clear I wouldn't be so mean about it.

A hive tyrant is not a vehicle.
Multi-meltas get an extra D6 to penetrate vehicle armour when within 1/2 range.
This does not affect the Hive Tyrant.

You will however wound it on a 2+, as well as ignoring its armour.

I wouldn't exactly say that.. hehe

Anywho, One correction about the multi-melta. Meltagun gets +d6 armour pen within 6" (max range 12") Multimelta gets +d6 armour pen within 12" (max range 24")
