If anyone could help me decide what army I should do next it would be greatly appreciated.
So far I've done 4,000 points of Salamanders and am hoping to keep slowly adding units to this army. I also had a short stint with Tau that was quickly halted because I just couldn't play the army or feel it. Any ideas for a clean (as in smooth edges and un-ugly) would be best, but any ideas are appreciated. An army which has conversion opportunities and mainly plastic is good as well. |

Necrons? Sisters of Battle? Any of those catch your fancy?

If you want conversions in our army then you definately want those crazy orks. They are by far the most conversion able army.
Necrons have little conversion oppurtunities. Eldar it is mostly posing and small things like cloaks and things for their converting. Sisters of battle can go all out on creating big penitent engines and mostly personal conversions. Orks... Everything, it is accepted you can take any tank and orkify it.

Oh, you added the conversion bit at the end
SoB are out because of metalics. Necrons aren't that convertable, so they are out. Eldar, not sure, i'd bet you can do something with them Orks are ugly, so i doubt you'd like them

I've dabbed into the idea of Orks before, and have plans if I choose to do them but my brother already has a large Ork army, and my gaming group has a large amount of Ork players, comparable to the Marine players.
Any other ideas? Can be weird variants of an army, such as Ravenwing or Saim-Hann. Can even be Space Marine if need be. Thanks for the replies so far. |

Well if your gonna do another space marine army...there isnt really a point in getting more models with 4000 points available for salamanders. Just take all that stuff make an army and see what you need to fill it out.
Blood Angels typically have a Baal Predator, Furioso Dreadnought (no one would argue if you used the Ironclad with the 2 fist attachments), and Assault Squads. It's not even hard to make Death Company models, just paint an assault squad black and put some red Xs on it. Space Wolves just require beards and wolf pelts to look different. I don't know about their models though. Same statements can be applied to most space marine armys...a couple small purchases with what you allready have and youve got an army.

If you want clean lines, plastics, and possible conversions I'd go with IG. I've seen some really cool IG armies that mix in warhammer fantasy pieces. Someone in the project logs is doing a traitor guard army, and they look awesome, so if you went Chaos there are a ton of possibilities with mutant/daemon parts on regular IG boys.

I like the idea of Guard and possibly Chaos Guard, but need some sort of idea on what to base them off. |

I was saying you can supplement an additional army with those same models.
I'm very sure you've got rhinos, tactical squads, an assault squad, various vehicles. All are able to be used by other armys just fine.
