Default bases?

i just got a box of chaos warhounds to represent kroot hounds in my army, the warhounds came with cavalry bases but the kroot hounds have small bases, i am not shure if i should mount them on the bases they come with (cavalry) or on the round ones. since they are converted into kroot hounds i got some extra circle bases but im not shure. can someone tell me what bases to use?

You have to use the Cavalry bases, as that's what the models came with.

Although depending on size and whether or not your opponents care, you can use either.

I recently encoutered the same problem as I'm using the new chaos warhounds and the old metal warhounds as my Lesser Daemons for my Chaos Army. The new ones come with calvary and the old ones came with 40mm round and calvary bases. The calvary bases are horible for Deepstriking where the round ones are ideal. So with that I ended up using the 40mm round bases. If my opponent has a problem then I guess we will each find someone else to play.

you can always use a bigger base than what is intended if you so choose, but never a smaller one. i'd use the round bases for the Hounds as that's what normal Hounds are mounted on. using 40mm bases could be interesting - perfectly legal, but not really necessary.

For the old hounds it is necessary as 1/2 the models will not fit on a 25mm base.

Now that is not quite right at all.

I could quite reasonably use, say, Sigvald the Sexual (the new Fantasy Slaanesh character) as a Daemon Prince in 40k. But if I "have to use the base he comes with" that unbalances things. I'd have to mount him on a Dreadnought size base, because that's what the *Daemon Prince* model comes with.

He does not have to use the bases that the models he is USING came with, he has to use the same size bases that the models he is REPRESENTING would come with.

There ARE models for lesser Daemons, you use a standard infantry round base.

Go to GW website and not a single model is shown for Lesser Daemons.
