Default Useful tool for making battlereport diagrams and playing games online.

Have played a couple of games with this Java based tool called Vassal..

http://www.vassal40k.com/

It is a tool for fighting 40k battles online, and provides (electonrically) pieces, a board and the means to move them and throw dice. (Each player must still know the rules and have their own copies of the books). It can also be used to make battle report diagrams, like the ones you get in WD.

Have found it good for learning rules and testing out new army lists against friends I can't get to regularly, but it doesn't do line of sight well.

Now all i've got to do is work out how to win a game with it, if anyone else uses it and fancies a game sometime, that'd be cool.

Just to let you know. One of our members is pretty much the designing force behind the 40k Vassal movement.

But I'm sure Tim appreciates the advertising your giving his work.

I thank all working on Vassal for providing something that is so unique for us, the players to use.

While I appreciate the effort to inform folks on the site about Vassal, we've known about it for quite some time. In fact we have a few sticky threads dedicated to it on various parts of the forum. So I reckon it's safe to just go and close this down.
