Default Transporting Large Armies

Hello 40K fans

My brother and I need your advice, we both have very large armies, with large items in them. I play mech worldeater so i have around 6 rhinos, 2 preds, a defiler, as well as Daemon prince(who likes to fall apart on me :P) as well as 60+ smaller models. My brother has 13+ leman russes type tanks, 5 Chimera type tanks and a bladeblade.

We both need a simple and cheap way to transport our tank heavy armies, do you guys have any thoughts?

Those new Hefty garbage bags work out great!

If you've seen the commercial you can practically fit a whole piano into one!

But seriously, I was given some gun cases by my father. They work well, though the special foam inserts are apparently expensive, which my father didn't like seeing. Heck as long as the foam fits, I've seen everything from milk crates to tomato boxes being used. :P

Hmm. A friend of mine bought some foam boxes from a french or german company. They are cubic with a kind of grid so you can cut out just as much space as you need, they were awesome. Anyway, sorry for my english beeing a little bit bad. I'm going to play him later though, so i might post a link tonight

Peace

For my mech eldar I use two big GW cases (going to get the big heavy support bag for them), if the tank is too big to fit in one layer you can cut through the floor of the next layer.

Tackle boxes and tool boxes work great. Just buy some foam and make your own insulation. You can buy a decent one for arround $20.00.

My tau tanks usually travel around in a large toolbox stuffed with toilet paper. It actually makes a pretty decent packing material. It's cheap, plentiful and when used right does a good job of protecting models from damage.

And in a pinch you can wipe your bum!

.... ^-^

Yeah I often resort to the above method for tanks, when I'm lazy. But generally if you can find foam it work quite well. The GW cases are good, but expensive, alternatively you can try checking out cases made by other companies. There's a really good one that makes really flexible cases and I cannot recall the name. Online retailer, very popular. Sable? Something like that. Hopefully someone else knows it.

I place washers on my models and 10 inch by 12 inch sheet magnets that has a sticky back side and apply it to a carrying tray. I can carry +120 regular models per tray.
