I was thinking of doing my Christmas orders through GT, but I live in Canada, and I was wondering how their service is to here?

There are a couple other threads on here about GTGU. I have only contacted them once for a price quote because I wasn't 100% sure about the total price depending on discount. Their response was simply a paypal invoice. While it did answer my question, I didn't actually ask for an order to be put through. Of course, their invoice is still sitting in my paypal inbox (because I do plan to eventually order it from them.) So I'm not sure if they were just taking care of two things at once by sending an invoice as their response or what, but that was my only interaction with them.

From what I hear, they are mostly reliable. I've only heard of one case where a package was delayed to the month region. Though I have mostly read it can take a bit of time to get a package delivered because it has to go from GW to them and then to you (unless they already have it in stock.) So as long as you have a week or two to wait for the package they are definitely the best on-line discounter.

Edit: Ahh, you wanted to know about their service TO Canada. I'm sure it would be just fine, you'll probably have to pay for a bit better delivery service so it can cross the border, and I really have no idea about that exactly, but I would imagine they could take care of that for you.

Canadian post is notorious, but I'm sure you already knew that. I've worked for companies that shipped to Canada, and tried to send things there privately, and nothing ever helped. :P

I made a substantial order of esoteric direct order miniatures just before the metal price hike in September, so I got everything I paid for in a reasonably speedy manner when considering my remote overseas location (Australia). This is provided that I ignore the lag between Games Workshop actually delivering my miniatures to Gorilla Tactics so that they can ship them to me.

My advice would be to order early if you plan on getting anything that is direct order or from the specialist games ranges. To my knowledge GT doesn't keep these things in stock and has to order them for you. Which leaves you at the tender mercies of Games Workshop. Any Rogue Trader will tell you that's not a good place to be.

I'm glad to hear people are actually getting their product. I ordered from them on the 7th, and have not received my package yet. I was told that it had shipped on the 12th. I asked a few days ago for a tracking number and have not gotten a response. I tried calling them, but it goes straight to a voice mail. We'll see if they answer the message I left there.

I was concerned that I may have gotten scammed. But if others have gotten their product, then hopefully it is just a matter of slow post!

They arent a regular store in hours sense. Its more like a group of people who get a list of orders, invoice, then call in the order. Its relatively undemanding as long you do everything right.

They had an ebay store to if I recall.

they did get back in touch with me, it seems I fell through the cracks. They have been good about it since then, and I am happy with the service.

I also apparently repeatedly fell through the cracks, and eventually just gave up on them. As previously mentioned, its more of a homebrewed job than an actual store, so presumably it's difficult to keep up with everything.

Mixed reviews isn't very encouraging, especially for Christmas orders, :P
But I've also not found any other place that says they'll ship me a Tyranid Assault Brood or Necron Warrior Phalanx for 30% off!

eh, its not always advised to only get 15% back on return. Thats why even the warstore will go as far as 20%, and I wouldnt blame them.

That 3-4.00 extra x 10 orders is still 30-40.00 bucks more, im surprised they are still keeping it up at 30%, 20-25% might make more sense for the work they put in.

at 30% they are bordering alliance wholesale rates, another 3 % and they would about do it.
