Default Imagination time boyz n girlz...

If you could create a BALANCED army with several good units/vehicles, what would they be, what is their fluff, how'd they get into the univerese, who did they oppress/who oppressed them, and what do they fight for?

well my army would be hummies but have seperated from the imperium and are kinda orkish in their vehicle style they tkae trashed stuff and mount it with guns they would be like orks also in their fighting style they are good in both CC and range. they also use a lot of vehicles one of thier standard vehicles is a landspeeder with more additional guns mounted and they like to do hit and run tactics

um...yeah if any of that was confusing i'm sorry

I'd make the Irae. Quick, Lithe, shadowy beings of the unknown. They're just a little farther advanced than the Imperium, capable of anti-grav vehicles. Thought to be descendents of the Eldar, the Imperium never had a corpse or captured one alive since when they die, they turn into mist and when they're captured alive, they kill themselves. Out of disgrace or out of keeping the Imperium from finding out who they are? Up until recently at least... The Imperium capture a wounded one and did an autopsy on the being while it was still alive... They realized they were closer to being human than an alien race. Just a few more organs and a larger sized brain than average.

That's all I could think of for Fluff.

Here's a description of what their army would be full of..

Infantry heavy based army, little vehicles. Vehicles they do have are lumbering giants that support heavy fire since the infantry can seriously handle anything on their own. CC oriented with a few Long range fighters. Medium amount of numbers, medium power, and above average speed, not high, just above average.

Rhunin, little guys that are like ghosts/shadows that corrupt aliens and make them fight for them. They are believed to be created by chaos gods and forgotten about. They lived on their own world living as shadows slowly gaining power. THen one year a tau ship landed on their planet. THey took it over and left their planet. They began attacking imperial fleets and other alien races planets. It is still unknown why, if they are from the chaos marines, they havent joined back up.

They are a shooty based army that uses tecnoligy based on other races. They are able to use their corrupted enemies in war.

Pretty good for just making it up imo

they cant. if they did everyone would play them and know one would learn any good stratagy. they would all be the same. im glad the armys are different because it makes it more fun.

i mean in limited amounts like 1 squad per like for games up to 2000 and 2 for more or something

I would make the Artirians, an ethereal/extraplanar race resembling tall, ghostlike humans. Highly powerful psykers but possessing little toughness, as their bodies loose coherency easily. They excell in close-range shooting (<18") and like to move FAST. I made house rules for an Artirian Guardian command squad, their elite warriors, although the sole intention was realy to bash how cheezy the SMurf command squads are at the time of writing ;D.

I'd make the Al'Khor a race of beings belched forth into the galaxy after a cataclysmic warpstorm. They are four armed, three eyed humanoids who have no gods and think those that worship gods weak. They are appalled by the treatment of mutants by the imperium and attempt to liberate them, but they are nonetheless wary of chaos. They tend to manipulate from behind the scenes, but when confronted they use their raw psychic power, which is channeled through strange weaponry.

The army is essentially an army of psykers, except that they cannot manifest powers like normal psykers, unless they want to create a temporary rift in the fabric of the material world, and kill themselves. The answer is channelers which shoot bolts of psychic energy, as fed by the al'khor operating it. They would naturally get an extra attack for their arms, but the majority of the force is made up by mutants who owe allegience to their liberators.

ok i would make a chaotic good army*for those of you who dont know chotic good is the most good all yet freespirited not going by many lawas some of theam but never comiting acts of unholy or bad things* ok the fluff they are very unknownown by many of the imperium or anyother race but th tau and are allied with the tau theyuse high tech things like the tau but upgrading theam to there likeing no one knows much about theam some never herd of em but will never resort to violence unless no other choice BUT are the most thechnogley advanve race in the game more tahn tau :P and they use ultra hevey stuff like hover tanks and some stuff stonlen froum there advarsires and can munipulate any wepon to a more powerful wepon but they are extermley slow but can use all sorts a tank and there infanty sucks but can keep the enemy at bay away froum there tanks yet the talnks are eqiped for such a thing wit close range wepns to but they are weak at armor and theay have one good thing pretty much tere power theay are called dragoonics

Some type of grand alliance of civilised alien race. Including numbers of , outcast exodite eldars, kroot mercenaries, dissidient humans and tau, surviving squats, etc etc. The army would be like a 40k version of the Tilean Dogs of War i would think, with each race contributing some. The alliance would be governed by very selective democracy, like each colony group having its own representatives who vote and stuff.
