Default AOBR Curious

Just out of curiosity I wanted to see how many people are getting AOBR and why. Just from looking around locally I think this was a brilliant sales move by GW. As for myself I started two new armies (which I'm sure my bank account will hate me for in the future).

well, i am planning on following one of the GW staffs footsteps...

he bought 6 of them

i wont get "that" many, but i will certainly be getting a box or 2 at some point. some of the models in there are simply awesome - and the ammount you get for 40 is pretty good as well.

My primary reason was the rulebook. I made use of the marines, but it wasn't the main motivator. I didn't need the templates either. I traded the orks away.

I purchased it for the terminators. There was a 20% off sale and this set was priced lower than the usual price of a terminators box. I was impressed by the orks and traded some Ig stuff for more of them! I better hurry up and finish my Tau army so I can get started on my WAAGH!

I voted "I got it for the mini-rulebook" and that was the main reason. But since I also own the Battle for Macragge set I'll combine the marines (+1 Chaplain in Terminator armor) into a decent army. Even though I don't plan to build an Ork army I'll probably paint them and keep them as a small alternate army.

he has now for the first time since he started playing around 12 years ago got a marine army

(he also now has nearly 3000pts of PAINTED ork infantry )

he just wanted the models (he now has a squadron of 27 deffcoptas for example)

he likes his orks (and will probably leave the mini-rulebooks in the store for beginners to use)

I mainly got it for the book. But Orks and Marines are all good too.

I got it last night you should have given the options orks and book, marines and book. I really got it 50/50 for space marines and the rule book but I voted marines cos they were a tiny bit more worth it to me. I intend to paint the orks at some stage and use them for some fun small games at some point as well, I won't be expanding on the orks though.

My wife and I bought one to split, so I could start a small Marine force, and she could bulk up her Orks and get Deffkoptas. We planned to get another later on, and split it as well.

However, an hour or so later, a boy and his dad comes in to the shop - I've seen them before, and he's probably the most polite and well behaved kid for his age I've ever seen - and they're looking to buy a set and trade the Orks away for more Marines. Since I hadn't actually started collecting Marines yet other than this box, I voluntarily gave mine up so my wife could get a second set of Orks.
