I find that it's too hard to read the numbers and they're too flexible to offer good line of sight finders. So pretty much I just use them to hit n00bs. > :P

Never even considered using them.

... only to hit people.

Seriously though, they're just kinda awkward, but occasionally useful, if needed.

This conjures up the endless stories of people heating them up, extending them, and cheating.

Tape measure saves the hassel, plus it's a great toy when it's not your turn!

When I had a pot on both my legs (long story), the red sticks were life savers... Especially since they were stiff enough and also had one rough side so it could be put down between my legs and the cast and scratch in places where I simply would of been able to get to otherwise ;D.

But otherwise, mainly to hit people when there aren't any dreadsocks around :shifty:

If I can find the ones I had from Maccrage I'll use them and the ones that come in the Black Reach set as color guides. Prime all of them black then paint each color in the range in one inch sections on both of the slanted sides on all four sticks. I think I figured out once that I'd need four of them to give each color it's own inch, and it'd be a more accurate representation of the colors that the color swatch pages in White Dwarf and elsewhere. That way, I can hold the painted sticks up to things that are already painted and see if I like color combinations, plus no more wondering "what color is that?" on old half finished minis.

Heh heh... Whippy Stick ;D
