Default Rulebook or Codex or Start an Army

I'm heading to Games Workshop this week (not sure when but I was promised a ride, hope aunt come through) and I can't decide what to do. I have about 100 USD I am willing to spend At the most but I would rather have some pocket money for when I'm out of the house.

Well I've gotten tired of my Tau (which I haven't finished but am hoping to come back too) for the time being and I decided to start an Ork Ravensquig army. The problem is besides the codex if I really want to play I also have to buy the BRB.
and if I get both I can't actually start my army for a while.

So TauOnline my question is, should I get the codex and start my army, buy the rulebook, or buy the codex and rulebook and stick to vassal for a while?

Well, if you wan to start Orc you always have the battle for skull pass kit that also includes some goblin.

Best of both world.

Sorry if I wasn't clear but I mean Orks in Warhammer 40k not Warhammer Fantasy.

pre-order the new box set, it has orks, marines, and the smaller "pocket" rule book, and you can sell the marines if you want to, its olmy $60 (it would be a pre order, you would have to go back and pick it up)

Good suggestion. Also, pick up the Ork 'dex when you do. You'll definately need that before you get to playing with them. And between the two purchases you should still have a couple of bucks to your name.

Ork Codex is a must. Ravensquig is kinda hard to start since you can only buy them at 2 Ork Bikerz a box :S So, patience and time is what you need if you want to start Ravensquig

I'm guessing your referring to Assault on Black Reach? I saw the set and thought it was a good deal, but would it benefit a ravensquig army that much?

no idea what a ravensquig army is... one that moves fast (bikes deathcopters and such?) it comes with 3 deathcopters, and some other troops, it also has all the stuff you need to start (other than a codex) and you have some other boyz (or something) that could be converted, or you could juse them for something else, or you might change your mind when you reed the codex...

ok there are death copters in the box, and if nothing else you can get some marine bikes and convert the orks you have to fit in them
