Default Deep Strike... WHAT!?

I just got off the phone with a friend who got the new rulebook and he says they "nerfed" deep striking. I asked him to elaborate and he said that now your opponent chooses where you deep strike.

Is this in any way true? ....Or is my "friend" just trying to make me change my army list?

EDIT: If this was a topic before sorry for the double-post.

Opponents can only choose where you deploy if you roll a 3-4 on the Deep Strike Mishap table.

The Deep Strike Mishap table is only used if your Deepstrikers land in Impassable Terrain, on top of friendly models, or within 1" of enemy models.

If anything, that makes Deep Striking better. Less chances to kill your Deepstrikers off.

There is a new "mishap" table...I wouldn't really call it a nerf, though.

Okay, for the most part, you deep strike as normal. If you scatter onto another unit, or into some terrain or even off the table however, you roll on the mishap table instead of losing the unit. On a 1-2 the unit dies, on a 3-4 it's misplaced and your opponent places it anywhere on the table (even in difficult terrain), and on 5-6 it's delayed and doesn't show up at all.
