One of the new things that GW has produced is the LoS Marker light.

The item is what looks like to me is a made out of polypropylene and looks sturdy enough to take a beating.

Now I know that there will be people buying cheaper units other places but for $10 you can not go wrong with it.

The the back end where it is curved is where you place it on top of the model that you are checking LoS. Instead of just a basic beam of light, you will see a cross hair symbol that you line it up against your target that you want to fire at.

This is a nice touch that GW created for production.

I give a recommendation to buy it if you are 16 years or older, and of course you need your parents permission to purchase this item if you are younger than 16 years of age, and of course this is -not- a toy to point at anyones eyes.

I can see its uses for War hammer. It is simply a good product to have.

What is the situation with the batteries? Does it take AAs or something else? And is the rumor about the Games Workshop stores allowing only those in there true or not?

Those are going to be the main factors of buying one for me :P

I thought laser pens were illegal in Britain, so won't these be as well?

I highly doubt that it would be illegal because that Target hairs expand in a short distance, laser pointers do not.

At 1 foot away there is a 1/4 inch diameter of light
at 8 feet away there is more than a 3 inch diameter target hair.

Batteries are 3 small batteries, the kinds you put on your watch or hearing aid.

Company brand is Vinergy #L1154F

To me it really looks more like a LED light as a light source such as what are now seen in new cars.

I think the more powerful ones are. The LOS markers aren't. We had some people in our store shining it in their eyes at point blank range....


But yeah, they're cool. ^^ I left mine at GW, though...

I looked on google-shopping, you can buy laser pointers for under £1, so $10 doesn;'t seem like that good a deal.

They're probably very, very weak ones. And The LOS marker has a crosshair pattern, giving it more area coverage, so you don't have to look for that little dot all the time. :P

You must have a shaky hand then, whatever your aiming for in the true LOS, that dot should be easy to see really. Like someone else brought up though, the crosshairs might be good for determining if vehicles are obscured or not.
