Default Making the perfect list

Let's start simple, what I'm going to lay down are my basic thoughts and ideas on how many people construct army lists and the planning that goes into them.

Part 1: Planning your Army List
Now every relatively experienced gamer plans an army list out before putting pen to paper or even finger to keys. There is always a variety of armies and always one that catches your eye or maybe even a few, the best way to sort it all out is to have a good ol' glare at what they have to offer, and if they will make your gaming experience worthwhile, so first simple, right up a list including I'm not saying exactly, but what you want and a rough thought of your ideal units, what you want from your army and what you want it to excel at.

Part 2: Constructing Your army list
Now once you have your key ideas it's time to get busy, any gamer with 6 months - 1 year experience can make a relatively competitive list, when beginning an army list go from where you feel comfortable maybe start from Troops then to HQ what ever fits your criteria. If starting a new army maybe set a small point limit which over a period of time can surpass as your army grows. Once your army list is complete don't be scared to show people, just throw it out there and get as much advice and criticism as possible, once you are happy with where your list is currently at, time to put it on the tabletop, now the smartest way to test your list without using your cash would be to play a "counts as match" of course not in a local hobby store but mainly with a friend at home or your local gaming club, once its use is put to the test, you instantly see its advantages and disadvantages, this is where refining comes into play.

Part 3: Refining your Army List
Once you have had enough battles to give you enough collective insight into your army its time to give it a good refreshment, now that you have grasped the idea of how it works, you can remove units that aren't working adjacent with your list or that aren't working correctly in a general manner, or you just don't like them, the best thing to do is play test it enough times for you to create a deadly list that has been worked until most imperfections are revealled and removed. Once all stages are complete you should have one competitive yet exciting list.

I hope this has shown people a bit about my extreme thought when planning a list.

Thanks for reading.

pretty much. although, the perfect list suggests winning at all cost.
my 'perfect list' is my IG, a manticore platform, basilisk and leman russ all at the back... supported by about 5 other vehicles. and a load of infantry...
