Default Forge world. Grrr

This is partly a rant but does have a bit of a question to it as well.

A month and a half ago my nightwing arrived so I opened it up and, oh. It was missing the undercarriage and one lower tail fin. So, we'd heard here that FW had reasonable customer service and we rang them. The phones didn't answer. We rang several times before finally getting through.

Once we did, they said that they'd send the missing parts.

They arrived yesterday, a month and a half after we rang them, admittedly we were given IA:Apoc for free because it was so late (something about the silicon mould breaking).

So again I opened up the box and, ah.

They'd sent the wrong sort of tail fin.

I needed the lower tail fin and had been sent the upper tailfin.

This is quite frankly not good enough. What should we do when we finally do get through to someone on the phones which don't seem to work?

Just tell them the mistake, I guess...what else can you do?

Say you asked for a lower tailfin since you didn't receive one the first time, and were given the wrong tailfin yet again.

Aye, just ring them again and tell them exactly what part was missing beforehand, but then say you phoned them up and asked specifically for a Lower Tail Fin, but you received an Upper Tail Fin, and so wish to have a Lower Tail Fin etc etc..

I'm sure it won't hurt ringing them again.

I don't think its part of the reason you've had problems, but FW have recently had to look at the way they are doing missing bits, as a large amount of people were taking advantage of how helpful they were to get extra bits.

They had a little bulletin up on the site a while ago that said they were having troubles with receiving phone calls as well.

@ Sidstyler & Kakashi

Yeah, that's what I'd planned to do, oh well.

@ Rafe

I wonder if this'll mean they want the upper tail fin back?

@ The all-father

I'd missed that, did it say why?

Yeah, they're a bit too generous.. you ring them up.."oh I'm missing THIS part" and they'll send you it, I bet someone has tried it with a titan gun somewhere along the line.. "Yeah I seem to be missing my left arm for my titan.."

Just ring them up and explain

My buddy was just wanting to place a FW order, they told him they are backed up by three to four months right now. Apparently, IA:A caused a huge surge in orders so they're having some trouble. Maybe it was just the working load that caused the oversight(s).

While I do not know anything about FW's warehouses, I can talk from experience about warehouses in general.

FW probably pays their molders, a decent wage for pouring the molds and doing the clean up work on all models, more than likely the pick/packers are low education low wage employees with a decent turnover rate. This means that you have a large number of employees at anyone time that woud not know the difference between am upper tail fin and a lower tail fin. So if the two parts were switched in the basket then the person picking the parts would not realize that it was the wrong part.

While I don't know the details of FW's operations this has been the case in all of the manufacturing companies I have worked for.

Normally this is prevented with quality control inspections before parts leave the warehouse. However, when the plant is having an increase in orders it is harder to catch every mistake. They will catch a Titin inplace of a baneblade, but one part for another is harder to catch.

Hope this helps to explain how it could of happened.
